12-17 (Yesterday) Everyone have a gorgeous day! Kitties think green....safely!!!:D

Moey's just bumping along doing his thang:cat: I employed the calipers last night. We'll see if it makes a difference in his #s. I'm hoping his #s are a reflection of inconsistent dosing. Paws crossed we see a slight decline in his #s. They have been creeping up a little. That's very concerning to me.

On a different note Ittle is dealing with constipation. When getting Moey's PMPS +6, Ittle went into the LB. He tried to have a BM but, only got a little out. He proceeded to walk around outside of the LB to "walk" out the poo. I tried to help him to no avail. So, I put 1/8 tsp Miralax in his and Moey's food. They share food overnight and Moey could use the Miralax too(scant stools w/o straining). After seeing Ittle struggle, I syringed him 6cc of water with 1/8 tsp Miralax dissolved in it this morning @ 9:30am.
I've tried Miralax, watering down the food, and cat grass(thinking fiber). I haven't tried pumpkin for fear of elevating Ittle's #s. As much as I hate it, we ordered Dr. Elsey's dry food:eek: since it has 3x the amount of fiber compared to the canned. I plan on allowing him a small amount everyday to see if we can't get things moving again. I truly dislike giving him Miralax everyday, as it's not natural. Thoughts on giving Dr. Elsey's dry to Ittle in contemplation of affecting his #s???? Thoughts on pumpkin as an alternative, in contemplation of affecting his #s??? I can't let this problem get out of control....as it seems to be going down that road. TIA!!!:bighug:

ETA: I've also contemplated making food for Moey and Ittle. Does anyone have advice re: does cooking your kitty's meals help keep them regular??

Slippery Elm always works for my kitties. I give them both half a cap mixed in water & into a feeding syringe. 2 X a week.

Oh Briere, I'm sorry to hear the kids are having BM problems. I agree with the pumpkin - high in fiber and water - I didn't think there was that much sugar in regular pumpkin - not talking pumpkin pie filling - just plain pumpkin....

I hope the calipers help with the dosage - as you get used to them you'll see the consistency of the amount - very finely so - and hopefully the result of that will be flatter numbers for Moey!

Have a good afternoon Briere!

It's a tool used in fine measurement. A lot of people on the board use them to ensure accuracy. Syringes are infamous for having mismarked zero lines. I found this out when giving Ittle and Moey a dosecrease and both cats' #s dropped dramatically w/i the first 2 hours. I posted about it and was told syringes can be mismarked and throw your dose off tremendously. I think there's a sticky about it ..maybe. I can't seem to find the info about it atm if there is actually info on it...LOL! One of the other members can point you to the right sticky:) There's also an instructional video to show you how to use calipers. I have 100s of mismarked syringes. I would go through the box and use all the correctly marked syringes. Hence the reason I have LOTS of syringes I need to use. The calipers are the only way to correctly measure the insulin in those wonky syringes. I REALLY dislike calipers...LOL!!! I complain every time I have to use them...rofl!!!!
