Ok an hour and a half part shot time she's now 266So cc surprised us this morning with a 198. We've been stalling and are now an hour passed shot time and she's 177!! Why she couldn't do this during Christmas break I don't know. I'm home for another 45 min. What would you give?
I see you reduced her dose. So hard to know how much to reduce. How are you feeling about her progress tight now?Ok an hour and a half part shot time she's now 266
If I was home I may have done more but I get nervous when she alone. She surprises us sometimes which makes it hard to predict. If the dose wasnt enough then I can shoot her early because she got it an hour lateI see you reduced her dose. So hard to know how much to reduce. How are you feeling about her progress tight now?
Woo hoo! Those are very nice!
Crazy that 10 units only brought her to mid blues but nice even day.Woo hoo! Those are very nice!![]()
Me either. She had good numbers yesterday. Tested her at +4 last night @192 which was good... Not a number that made me think she was going too low. Then this morning what a shock! Stick around.... Not sure what I should do later. She never seems to throw these curve balls when I'm home.WHOA! I did not see that one coming!!!!
Very true. She's on a high dose so a tiny dose could be a unit or 2.
Yes she eats great. I fed her and there's lots of food down. I stalled so long the others thought they weren't getting fed and gave up and went for a nap. Ha She was the only one there eating. Lol. No one is home today. That’s a tough one...I’d be tempted to give a teeny dose like 0.25 or so maybe. She eats fine? Can you leave food out? Is your partner there to keep an eye out today?
She's feeling better too. If I was home I might have tried 4-5 but just couldn't take the chance with no one being there. I'll be home part of the day tomorrow because of a dr appointmentWOW! What a shocker. It's too bad our kitties have such bad timing to throw those gorgeous but scary low BGs. With big gulpers, it's sometimes easier to think in terms of % reduction when they pull these tricks. While I know full well I would have skinnied up the dose as you did today if unable to monitor, if CC throws low numbers like that when you can monitor a bit more, I'd try a 25 or 50% reduction to see what she does so you'll know the next time you can't monitor how she reacts. You don't want to lose progress and CC is definitely looking much better these days.
Talk to the cat. I was home 11 days that she could have pulled this. No, she waited until in back to work. When you get a low PS like that, stalling will rarely raise the number enough by itself. You have to use Kris' technique of feeding first and then monitoring the food spike until it's high enough to shoot something. Then maybe go with a BCS (usually about half of the regular dose) instead of a token dose. It's best to try it out on a weekend if CC would be kind enough to give you a green PS on a Saturday. Prozinc will sometimes give nice overlap as Kris said, but it's usually petered out around +14 and you'll start to see the rise at that point. Doesn't help if you need to leave though.

What do you guys think I should do tonight?Sometimes ProZinc seems to have a bit of a "depot" like effect from extended duration so dropping the dose can help to reduce after a low PS.
I have no set anything. I'm winging this with the help of you kind folks. Lol I can reduceHave you set any specific BG at which you give C.C. a reduction in dose? Sometimes with the big gulpers, instead of waiting for them to get all the way down to 68 using L&L TR procotol and because their reactions can be a bit erratic (like you need to be told that) folks do reductions at a slightly higher BG. So if you normally reduce when C.C. she gets to 90 for instance, raise that up a bit to 100 or 110. Given that 84 this morning, and knowing you can monitor part of tomorrow, I'd probably take her back to 9.5u barring a lower than expected BG at PMPS.
She's acting like she feels good. Not sure what changed.Given that very small dose this morning, that is a very encouraging PMPS. Go C.C.![]()
LOL....of course she did. She's a cat!Talk to the cat. I was home 11 days that she could have pulled this. No, she waited until in back to work.
She's 122 at shot timeLooks like C.C. may have bounced from that blue yesterday or a lower reading later in last night's cycle and has cleared the bounce quickly. I'd hold judgement until you see what she is doing at pre-shot. If she's heading up, then yes I'd probably go with 9u. If she's holding steady or lower, that's a different story and would depend on how much monitoring you can or want to do tonight.
I cut the difference and did 8I'd go for the 9u as long as you can monitor her tonight. She heading up and better to catch her now with a full dose than reduce excessively and then have her skyrocket. If you decide monitoring is not your thing tonight, (and we all have those nights) I wouldn't reduce more than 25%, say to 7u roughly.
I'll keep that in mind. The problem with stalling at night makes it hard for me to test v because I'm not a night person and staying up past 10 is hard because I'm usually awake by 4. Plus the last two days have been super stressful. My partner and son were in a car accident yesterday (they are OK....) then I was called by my in laws to take father in law to the hospital...... Then they called again at 4:30 am this morning and my partner brought him to the hospital... A full day of professional development and curriculum writing.... I literally just feel asleep for a half hour at 7. Oh and I learned on Wed I am very anemic (knew that already from on of CC'S meters but it was confirmed) and learned ill probably need major surgery in the next few months and need to schedule a biopsy. Good times. BUT everyone is ok... Cc is doing well... And it's a 3 day weekend.Next time she does that you can also try stalling for a bit. Or since she's long term, you could feed-and-stall if you needed to to get her up enough. That way you can avoid having to reduce the dose as much and keep her on track. Since Prozinc has a little play and CC is usually high at shot time, you most likely be able to keep your normal morning schedule. Of course now that I've said that she'll give you a green AMPS![]()
Yep she's purring happy as a clam eating gravy and party mix. Meanwhile im not nearly so happyOh man! They really do have bad timing don't they?! ?. Seems C.C. is on some kind of mission right now. That is totally unexpected. I thought she'd likely bounce a bit. Get the big guns out and give her some high carb food to bump her up.
I'm on eastern standard time. Yes 4.5 was a little over a half hour ago... I just took a reading at +5 (10:50 pm) and she was 71Trying to figure out the time difference . . . is that 67 @ 4.5 (from your SS) just a few minutes ago?
Yeah so far sailing. Glad it's the weekend. I didn't give any food at +5. Wanna see if she can maintain on her own nowThat's great -- looks like she's holding steady for you (with the food, of course). Good news!
Yikes you have a lot going on in your life right now! Sending you vines...I'll keep that in mind.
