Trying out 1.5u now, after a really good run on 1.25u. I can't understand how a dose can call for a reduction one day pm cycle 21-Jul, then we go wonky. I held out thinking I missed something later cycle, or fed higher carbs to fend off a big bounce/drop here and there, but then realized we needed more juice. Since increasing, we seem stuck in weird cycles. Just really checking in, I'll try and get the world SS updated, sorry about that for my US friends. I've kind of settled a bit, thinking nothing I have been doing makes much difference, after a year in diagnosis, we couldn't really celebrate much improvement.

BUT: Mav is still playful with his spongy ball, happy purrs all the time, cuddles with me, I'm so happy for these moments, just can't quite get a good balance going with his numbers on a regular basis.

Sill looking into Levemir, but that's been it's own problem in sourcing without a prescription, though it shouldn't be. I'll need to run some numbers for the vet, using AT2, but my last order from Amazon was held up by Cdn customs o_O, finally released at least not confiscated. Yup, all good here :p

Hi Christie, good to "see" you amd Mav. :bighug: Great report on how he's feeling, that's very important.

On the night of the 21st, he was breaking a bounce, which can have some extra downward momentum. I would have tested a little earlier that night, and perhaps given some food, maybe higher carb than usual, to slow him down. As for a dose looking OK, then not, the beta cells can get tired. A bit of glucose toxicity can set in, you did hold the dose longer than TR calls for.

What is the issue with Lev? Try a different pharmacy?

Thanks Wendy. It's funny to me how sometimes I can get a preshot around 180 or lower and wait till +3 but other times not. I guess that's just part of the way things work, but frustrating to me none the less.

Oh the Lev dilemma :banghead:, I've gone to three different pharmacies they each told me I can't get it without a prescription, even though I mentioned I thought I didn't need one. Their comment was consistently that for a cat, they need one, and one pharmacy actually said it's against their code of practice to refill the insulin without another script which is what I've been doing with Lantus. So weird. I guess I could try and walk in at another, and not tell them it's for a cat, but they'd be taking my info to enter into their system...and i don't want to be dishonest. It may be easier just to take Mav in for a recheck and try and see if I can get the script. Or, maybe Levemir isn't a good choice for us anyway, I don't know if I want those potential late nadirs and low preshots. I'm just feeling a bit done trying to over analyze every little trend in numbers, carb counts, etc. It only works for a few days then we go back to whatever weird jump to numbers and work our way back to something that is somewhat better, but only lasts for a short time. I just didn't expect this to be where we are at a year later, and it's really frustrating.

As long as Maverick is happy and doing well, you are doing awesome. Just keep doing what you are doing. He doesn’t know his numbers but does know he feels good. Thinking of you guys often and hoping his numbers improve soon for your peace of mind. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yo Mav, keep working that juice as best you can! Momma Bean is doing her darnedest to keep you on an even keel so don't be messing around causing her angst :cat:. Hopefully see you in the lagoon soon, dem sharks need a little tending to as only you and I can, Titan.
