I am hoping they have blood they can send in for this. I really cannot subject him to another visit - at least not until he has more strength. Is that something send into the lab or A&M?
I cannot get potassium into him. He simply will not eat food with it in it and the chews are hit/mis if he will eat the food with it in it (or even by itself). I have been trying to get potassium into him for over a year.
I did not defer - they did. I will call tomorrow and see if they will give me the RX for Amlodipine and if they will - pick it up tomorrow after work. I am hoping they will simply call in the rx to the pharmacy so I don't have to spend 1 1/2 hours up there and back during rush hour. Probably they will NOT because that would just make it easy on me.
There are some scary side affects to that drug. Again, I will request that they give me an RX - again, I highly doubt it but I will try.
I went looking for this at the local CVS/Walgreens and grocery store - no luck. The closest health food store (GNC) is about 35 miles away and I have no way of knowing if they have it. I ordered it from
Amazon today.
Gave him 1/4 this morning - just doped him up and didn't do much for his appy. I want to go back to the Mirtz. I need to know how long I have to wait since I have him Cypro this morning (@5:30a).
Again, I will call the vets tomorrow and try and get them to give me the RX and get him started on it tomorrow.
With much struggle hubby and I got him to eat about 80% of his food this morning. He did eat a couple of tablespoons of the A/D, so feel pretty good about the amount of calories he got this morning.
I went and got a small food processor/chopper and put Tiki Chicken and A/D in there together and mixed it up real well. It looks like soupy pate. I am planning on feeding it tonight and lacing with sprinkles in the hopes that it will get him to eat. He isn't like the texture of shreds right now and that is ok, I can work around that and he usually really likes the Tiki food.
