As for holiday - not sure. Of course it hasn't even been on the radar because I couldn't even think about leaving. Boarding him is completely out of the question with his adverse reaction to the vet I know it would be a disaster. But a day trip is NOT out of the question or even a fishing trip now that we wouldn't have to be home by 4pm to TFS (which is almost impossible because the bay is about 2 hours away).

@LizzieInTexas , this sounds phenomenal! Here's to future day trips and even a fishing trip. That would be so great for you and DH. :p
 
I'm so glad Girlie seems a lot more stable, I was bummed you had to cancel your Christmas trip, but at the same time, you probably would have been worried sick over her had you gone. Now, at least, you may be able to enjoy yourself and your mom and only worry the normal amount. :bighug:

I'm still undecided about her. One problem is, she'd insist on having a lock on the door that leads from my part of the house to my flatmate's part of the house. Because we rent, we're not allowed to install things like that. I'm not sure if she'd pet sit if she didn't have that reassurance; she apparently had a bad incident with someone's flatmate and that's been her policy since then.

I'm actually going to India - not the US. I'm going to see someone very dear to me who's also quite old; this is probably my last chance to see him. I'm scheduled to go for two weeks, but I'll come back earlier if Girlie's not doing too well.

She's been so steady on a drop that I'm feeling very optimistic, although I'd so much rather have someone stay here than have to put her in to the vet's. Two weeks is a long time...

Well, I hope you work something out or find someone else, and most importantly, that Girlie decides you can go on your trip in the first place!
 
Pet sitter vines :). Do you have any colleges/universities close? Maybe you could find someone there? What about a co-workers kid?

Where in India? We have a large office in Pune. I hope you can go and see your friend. It sounds important for you to do.

Girlie is lookin really good.
