Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

That shot of Ondansetron I gave Harvey last night seems to have helped a lot. He ate all his t/f/s meal and his breakfast and is grazing on his +6 snack. He got a bump up to 2.0 this morning, but so far it hasn't made a difference. Darned depot! ;)

Cinco ate his t/f/s well, and his breakfast, but he's needed a little Forti Flora to help him eat his later snacks. Maybe because I went from FF to Dave's. Why do the kitties all prefer FF??? It's so high in phosphorus, I hate to feed it all the time, but it's the one food I can almost always count on them to eat!

Cinco's recovering from that fur shot - even hit the blues this morning, so that's a relief. He was doing so well, I hate that we had to go and break his momentum.:banghead::banghead::banghead: :arghh: Now the count starts over, and there will be no more dosecreases this week, as they go to Dawn's on Friday through Tuesday. My sister and her boyfriend's daughter-in-law come Friday night, and we are off to the foothills for Wino Weekend on Saturday. Monday we'll probably hit a couple favorite wineries in Napa. So I'm back in cleaning mode, with the piles of receipts all over the living room just waiting for me to get them tucked into the right folder, or the shredder! Better get to it!

We are holding Suki and John close in our hearts today, after they helped Crystal cross. Such a heartbreaker. Fly free, sweet Crystal, and land softly. :(:rb_icon::bighug:

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

The shipment should arrive to you Wed/Thurs for Harvey. Hope he continues to improve.

Reading of the fur shot, wasn't that always how it goes? Right after a great break in the numbers and then the stress to not have the fs.....Almost like my trying to bowl after a strike....I always got a gutterball. Go Cinco go!

Great report today on the boys....I'm sorry Harvey barfed last night but am so glad he's feeling better today!

Trix will only eat FF and Purina One Classic Pate....both are horrible on phos, but what can ya do? A kitty's got to eat, when they are picky about fuds, you gotta feed them what they are willing to go for. I wish we had more options for FD kitties who need low phos fuds....

Wino Weekend sounds awesome....maybe I'll create my own Wino Weekend here at home, too :joyful:!!

Thanks for stopping by, Kari and Amy.

I at least try to feed the Savoury Salmon flavor, as it has the lowest phosphorous of all the FF Classics, but they prefer the chicken or the beef. After getting Harvey's kidney numbers back down to normal, I really want to keep them there, but I'm not getting a lot of cooperation.

The coordinator from UCD called me back. The soonest he can get Harvey in is the 14th. That's way better than May 3rd! He said he'd watch for a cancellation and let me know if he can get him in sooner. I feel a little better, already.

@Amy&TrixieCat, our Wino Weekends are the best! Our group has 9 people in it now, and we meet up at Jean and Dave's home in the foothills, about 30 minutes from the wineries. We take two cars and hit as many places as we have time for the first day (they have lots of wines to taste, and food to go with), then head back to Jean & Dave's where we feast on Mark's ribs and my garlic potatoes and other sides provided by the others, with wine, of course, followed by a decadent chocolate dessert and Port. We visit a while, hit the hay and in the morning we have a big breakfast, then go again, with another meal (this year Mark's tri tip) in the evening, before dividing up our wine and heading home. It's a wonderful time with good people and such a nice break from the stress of our daily lives. The biggest problem is we always buy too much wine!! Not a bad problem to have, is it?;)

Nice to see Cinco recovering so well after the fur shot. Maybe he's serious about this dose after all. And Harvey - work that extra juice. We are bored of yellows here!

I never introduced FF here, I've heard way too many stories of cats getting addicted to it. Neko got a brief taste of FF Gravy Lovers, until I found the wheat in it disagreed with her.

Your weekend away sounds great - fun is always better with good friends and good food.

It's nice to see Cinco get back on track after his fur shot. I hope Harvey starts working the dosecrease. I'm glad they can get Harvey in earlier. Sending prayers.

Work that juice! I read recently that Forti Flora can raise calcium levels so if you see that go easy with it.

Thanks for the visits, everyone. Looks like Cinco's recovered from his furshot last night, and Harvey's dosecrease has kicked in! When I tested Harvey when we got home at +5.5, I must have hit a vein, cause I could not get his ear to stop bleeding. IT didn't help that every time I took the pressure off, he shook his head, splattering blood EVERYWHERE! It must have been 5 minutes before it finally stopped. After that I was afraid to poke him, and the next test got a lot of blood, but it mercifully stopped in a much shorter amount of time. I'm going to soak his ears in Neosporin when I'm done poking. He seems to like it in the lagoon and I'm having a hard time hauling him out. I'll have to go see if China's in there! There's gotta be something that's holding his interest! :D

This has been such a sad day, bookended by heartbreaking events. First we lost Crystal this morning, and while we were at the bowling alley, I got the news about Black Kitty. :( I haven't cried this much since I lost my girls. We are keeping Suki & John and Sandy & Dominic in our thoughts and prayers. I hope we have better news tomorrow.

Thank goodness we have a party coming up to lighten our hearts - Elliott is about to go OTJ! congrats @FRAN M.! :):D

Hey Tricia! Just wanted to ask, what flavors of Daves do you use or do you know which ones are low carb offhand? Stomper used to eat that brand all the time before he was diagnosed and loved it. I really like their company too and would start feeding it again if I knew which ones were okay for him. Thanks!

Glad both the boys are doing well too :bighug:
