Hi everyone. Just stopping by with an update and a question.
My sugar cat, Brandy is doing well! Her #s have been a bit unstable since she got her steroid shot, but I expected that. She is coming back to normal now. Except for the chin acne issue which I'm treating, she's doing pretty good. It's a work in progress, but the diabetes seems to be doing pretty well.

We lost two kitties late last year as you may recall. And, I must be out of my ever loving mind lol but I adopted a new one.

She is only about 8 weeks old. She was hit by a car and badly injured. She had one eye surgically removed by the animal shelter who saved her. She was brought in by a kind police officer and his wife, who found her on the road. She was found beside her deceased sibling. Saw her picture at the shelter online - my heart broke for her and I just could not leave her there, so She's now ours. Coincidentally, she looks like a miniature Brandy. She's another calico...tiny precious little thing. Next week she will get her sutures removed from her eye.

Here is a picture of her. What she has been through at her tender age breaks my heart, but she will never ever suffer again.

She loves kisses, she purrs like crazy and she is just the sweetest thing ever. I need help in choosing a name for her. If anyone wants to throw out some suggestions, that would be great! Thanks a lot!
She is simply precious and beautiful. I thought of calling her Rose or Rosie because even with one eye, to me, she is beautiful (and it's almost Valentine's Day) thoughts??

She is precious and to have gone through so much in her short life so far. Kudos to you for adopting her.

It is me that is blessed. She has been through so much indeed. I absolutely LOVE her. We all do. Her days of suffering are over forever. This little baby is a testament to how great animals are...the things she's endured and she is so trusting and loving. <3 Any name ideas? :)

don't think this one sent last time. She is a great addition to our family. She's worth everything

How about Precious. Since you mentioned Valentine's day, there is Valentine, maybe Valerie, Cupid. Kinda like Trudy.

Just thought of Markie, because of her color marks.

What a doll baby your new kitty is! I'd name her Amber, because she has the color of Amber in her fur.

Poor little baby, she really did get a rough start! Thank you for deciding to give her a forever home. She's earned it.

oh boy... valerie, amber, trudy...so many choices. These are all good! Thank you. I like Precious too - it's tough lol

I think I would just sit and cuddle her all day. Another name. Marissa.
well I have been cuddling her non stop except when she gets super tired. Her surgery was only about 10 days or less ago. It will break my heart to go to work tomorrow lol
I will miss the little lovebug!!!

I wonder how long before she fits in that bed:cat: unless she bribes you to rescue another :cat::cat:
ohh no. She is number FIVE!!! lol But I went to a local place to drop off some food for the kitties and I had to visit her (at least) and when she purred like crazy when I held her - that was it. there was nooo way I could leave without her! Nooo way. I waited almost 3 hours to take her home but she is worth that and thensome

Maybe leave a t-shirt or similar for her to cuddle up to so that she can be comforted by your scent while you're at work.
yes, will do! good idea. My husband will be home most the day and he can check on her periodically. I won't leave her out of her room unsupervised for a little while because she's too small and fragile still. But I'll be racing home to kiss her lol

Smitten Kitten (Smittie for short)? They can see just how smitten you are with her from the International Space Station. ;) :)

Oh man, this is tough ...

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.

There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.

But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?

Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.

But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

- T S Eliot

Oh, goodness... she's just about the sweetest, cutest little girlie I've ever seen! Those pictures are definitely "worth a thousand words". Kudos to you for giving her a forever home! I see you've had lots of suggestions for names, so I guess I'd better get in on offering up a suggestion, too. I'm thinking Eyerene... pronounced the same way as the traditional spelling of Irene. Or maybe Eyevie... also pronounced as the traditional name of Ivy. Whatever name you decide upon, best of luck to you and your beautiful furbaby. Hugs to both of you.

She is a little doll! Thanks :) I like those names! Thank you. We are still thinking (well, she's sleeping lol)

Well, just look at your handsome big boy helping care for your new baby. That's amazing... he's amazing, especially this early on in the adoption game. It's been my experience to expect a lot of hissing and growling and not getting along from the established felines. You do, indeed, have the nicest cats!

And @Mogmom and Goofus, I really like Dolly. That seems like a fit. Also, Gracie is a sweet name, too. My little Hannah's name means "grace" in Hebrew.

Congratulations to your family on the addition of four paws of utter cuteness. Thank goodness for families like your's who take in those that have had a tough time. Keep sending the pics!

She's beautiful!!! What a little darling! Have you named her yet? I like Belle/Bella for beauty, or Cherish for your love and care for her. Please send more pics and let us know how she is coming along! :):):)

Hi everyone. I haven't named her yet. Just can't decide. Im still thinking of grace/gracie or ^^^bella would be nice too! I have been so busy with her becuz she came home with that kennel upper respiratory thing but the medicine they gave didn't work and she got worse! Poor baby got so sick and congested! I didn't want to wait for my free appointment at the shelter so we took her to our regularl vet on wednesday. He gave a stronger antibiotic. Im giving her kitty high calorie vitamin gel too as the cold has made her not eat much. The new med seems to be working but slowly. She had the stitches removed from her eye today. Poor baby. Im trying to get her well fast. Love her

OMG! What a beeeeauuutiiiful little girl! So young and already a hit with the boys! I've always held off naming my furkids until I had a good feel for their personalities and/or special qualities too. But since you asked for name suggestions, what about Elsa, after the brave lioness in Born Free! Wishing her a quick recovery!

Smiley, she's beautiful! Thank you for taking her in. I'm so glad Mulder already loves her. I'm bad at the name thing but I agree with the others: the right name will come to you. :bighug:

I used L-Lysine when my little one was sneezing and had runny eyes and it seemed to help a bit but then I was giving it for kitty herpes virus. If the little one has a bacterial issue or a different virus, not sure it if it would help or not. Wouldn't hurt though!
