We
offer two main layout areas: the Feline Diabetes Message Board
(FDMB) area, and the main content area. These graphics are illustrations of available advertising real
estate. As we have recently begun to offer advertising, you may
not see ads in all of these places when you explore our website.
This is normal, and doesn't denote that the space is unavailable.
Ads that you will notice are the "Google ads" that we
run in the skyscraper area. Though there is no border around the
block of text ads, it is a 160x600 skyscraper. Google ads are an
affiliate program-the content is independently
controlled by Google.
Main Site Area: In the main site (right) a banner
and a leaderboard are interchangable as the top ad on the page.
The "inline" ad rides inside the text area, which makes
it a very effective format. Most often, the space is used as a
rectangular shape, but a standard banner would also fit. Rectangle
shapes should be 300 x 250 (shown), or 250 x 250. Please email with
questions about other sizes.
The skyscraper area (where the google ads appear) is available.
A skyscraper is another effective advertising format. Because it
rides along the side of the page, users have a greater opportunity
to notice it as they scroll down the page. The skyscraper area
will serve up to two ads. Should two ads be served, the top/bottom
positioning will be determined randomly for each view by our ad-serving
software. This can be over-ridden if you prefer your ads to run
only in the top or bottom position.
The main areas are priced at a slightly higher rate because they are content areas and users searching content areas are more likely to examine advertisements
offering solutions. The highest demonstrated click through rates (CTR) are in the main areas.
The Feline Diabetes Message Board (FDMB): The
FDMB is a high traffic area. Over 300,000 page views are generated monthly. The only ad
sizes available for the FDMB are the leaderboard and banner, as
shown. The FDMB's volume makes it an attractive outlet. Users will have
more opportunities to see an ad - they are shown on the FDMB index,
and on the page that loads when a users reads a message (in one
of the two view options). This builds up a brand name, makes users
curious, and will often result in a click. We discount the FDMB
space to make this an attractive possibility for advertisers.
Unfortunately, inline ads and skyscraper ads are not available
on the FDMB because of formatting reasons. |
