Austin and Ripley

Austin, the real FOUNDER of FelineDiabetes.com & FDMB. He was born in 1984, diagnosed with diabetes in May 1996 and died of a heart clot on February 22, 1998. Austin was MY cat, my first cat, the first cat I ever loved.

Ripley was adopted on January 10, 1998 as a companion to Austin whose littermate Eugene had died several months before. Although Austin & Ripley only got to spend a few weeks together, they found a great deal of comfort in each other. Ripley was diabetic and years old when we adopted her. She developed intestinal lymphoma and passed to Rainbow Bridge on April 19, 2005. She was approximately 17 years old.
