Good morning.

Kiwi's first shot was last night. I'm still feeling uneasy about giving him his shot (he's a little heavier than last year, so it doesn't "feel right"), so if anyone has advice or links (esp video) for finding a good spot, please let me know.

Today: AMPS - 376, +3 -137.

Is he dropping too early?

Sorry if I'm not much fun...I'm exhausted (still scared to leave him unsupervised very long, so I haven't slept much). I can't remember how I used to relax.

I tested him 30 min later and he's 154 (up from 137). I'm not sure what to make of that.

It could be a response to the food or it could be the normal variance (20%) due to the meter or numbers could be going back up. Later tests will tell.

Thanks for the advice. I did give him a spoonful of food. I forgot how stressful these first days are!!!

These are today's numbers. He didn't drop as much tonight as it did this morning, but he came in the bedroom this evening having had a nice bath...looking fluffy and clean again, and obviously feeling better than he has been.

I haven't been able to get a late-cycle number, but I'm still trying. My own infusions are at 1pm and 1am (+6 for Kiwi). They make me too tired to stay awake, but at least that leaves me up and alert for his lowest numbers (he eats immediately before my IV, so I hope he'll always be safe). If anyone has any suggestions to time this better, let me know. Kiwi is back to napping/sunning at the foot of the bed, so at least I can sneak a peek at him often.
