Morning ~O) ~O) back up to yellow. This is the Cowboy Cookout spike. Yesterday I was not able to find the Wellness Turkey (made in Canada) that Maggie likes, so I've been mixing the WT (made in USA) in with CC to balance the carbs, and it does cause a spike. I don't know how close to the +9 she was eating. She just does not like this Wellness, so another hunt for fuds for Mags begins today. :?

All is well with Mags this Tuesday morning, four P's so far. She did have prezzies while I was gone yesterday. :-D I was so happy to be greeted by the familiar aroma. Mags got me up an hour before the alarm, so this is once again a sleepy Bean. Elsa Lil Bit, double order today for sleepy Bean, thanks! :lol:

Ah, Maggie, fussy about the fuds? (I'll refrain from a Wellness rant :roll: :-| :? :lol: !) I hope you can find the variation that she prefers soon...you'd better fuel up on Elsa's magic brew for the hunt :lol: !

How frustrating with the Wellness, and being able to find the right one.... part of me is grateful that Mannie ever cared, he ate it no matter what the consistency. I wish yoyu luck in trying to find the right one. It is a shame that you can't just mail order it - but would imagine there would be no guarantee that they'd ship the right one.

I so suspect Maggie will head on down, back the the grotto, and the lagoon. Got that green 'kini waiting in the wings Maggie? But ya gotta work on those early wake-up calls....

Bummer on the Wellness! It would be a hit-or-miss operation if you ordered it online, so I guess you (and I) will just have to keep hitting the stores (for me this is a production, since the only two stores that carry it are 50 and 72 miles away; on Thursday I will be in Potsdam for a dermatology appointment, so will try at the 72-miles-away store). In any event, now that I have the Paw Lickin' Chicken, which Rusty really likes, it is not so desperate. I could feed him FF T&G and Paw Lickin' and he would be very happy. He likes both of them better than Wellness (which, I think, he is tired of, even though I have been able to get the Canadian "version"). Anyway, carry on!

I guess the AMPS was a fuds spike, as Mags did a great job of clearing it. :-D

Michelle, you were right in Mags reaching the grotto and Lagoon almost! Even though she starts out high, her Nadir numbers are within range most of the time. Yes, off to the mailbox and recycling shortly for a walk and then later a longer one.

Ella, good luck on your hunt next time for the Canadian version. Yes, it's hit or miss with the ordering. This time I tried PetFoodDirect vs. Wag.com.

Hi Josie, yes, for just one kitty she does keep me hopping. And most of you have two or more, so can't imagine all the shopping.

I'm glad she is coming down!

Ahhh, I have the same problem with Wellness for Lucy.
She likes one batch and does not like the other....
I have finally given up on Wellness Turkey, and started feeding her Wellness Turkey and Salmon because I though it was more consistent, but the same thing is happening with the new case.
It even smells different....

Hi Mariko, thanks for visiting us. Ahhh....so Lucy is in the Wellness Turkey club of the right consistency. I've not tried the salmon and turkey. I have a feeling Mags would like it. I used to feed FF Salmon, but it really caused a spike.

Hi Ann,

I hope that Maggie decides to turn her little tushie around so that she can wear her green 'kini. I bought some Wellness, I think I tried the chicken and the turkey and I just recently bought one of the core ones for kittens. Zeus doesn't seem to care much for them. Hope you can find the right food for Miss Mags :-D Have a good day,

Thanks Ann & Tess, Linda, Detective Poo aka Liz, Pat and Kathie for the good luck vines on finding the right Wellness fuds for Mags, but no luck. I tried a local petco, and it was the Made in USA cans, so I only bought five cans to get me thru til my PetFoodDirect order arrives. I bought Mags one of those little softie blankets.
I just tried giving fluids, but she would have no part of it, so I'll try later.

ETA Mags says to tell Detective Poo thanks for getting her off the hook with the dang prezzies. :lol:

It looks like Maggie is surfing blue today. Maybe she'll give you some green this evening. I hope she likes the blanket you bought her.

Hi Ann....... Add my sympathy to the others' on the fuds issue. Checks likes Wellness, for one can, then rejects it.
I can buy only FF by the case, and know it won't all go to waste.
Looks like Miss Mags didn't want to go lagoon dipping today....maybe tomorrow :-D
 
How about some green Mags? A new blankie? What a lucky girl. Bummer on the wellness. I am lucky that T & T will only eat one kind of food. Saves me the headache of playing "guess which fud this week." Have a great night Ann!

We could see green tonight possible. I gave fluids later than usual though is why the lower number, but sure looks good. :-D

Thanks Carla, Barb, Linda and Melissa for the visits. Mags really likes the pink blankey and not so much the Wellness choice. :lol: I think it's because she has so few teeth with the fluffier consistency. I've been mixing it with Cowboy Cookout t get it less fluffy and seems to be helping.
 
Looking good night. Hope she slides into the greens. Sorry to hear that you can't find the Canada made, but at least it's on it's way!!! Hey, Maggie...will you let your mama bean sleep until her alarm goes off in the morning?! There is significant research that says when mama beans get a "full" night's sleep, they are much more lovey and cheerful and sweet and they play more and give better scritches. Just keep that in mind for the morning! Ok?! Hope you have a great night, Ann!

Thank you for visiting my kitty's condo and taking a look at Lucy's profile earlier today.
After you posted, I had a "Lucy-is-low-but-I-have-to-go-to-work" situation, so I couldn't reply to you about acupuncture.
So, I though I'd drop by again to let you know about that, and hope it's OK...

Lucy is getting acupuncture for her pancreatitis, actually.
The vet suggested it saying that apart from supplemental treatment such as sub-Q fluid & pain meds, there are not much else western medicine can do to feline pancreatitis, so why don't we try acupuncture and see if it helps.
I think it's helping.
When I started it, she was right in the middle of a bad flare-up having all sorts of symptoms, and that cleared quickly.
Sometimes she seems to perk up right after a session.

Does Maggie has arthritis?
I think acupuncture would work better for things like arthritis or muscle pain than internal inflammation, so if my cats ever get a joint problem, I would definitely try acupuncture.
It's quite interesting how they do it, and what different acupuncture points are related to what part of body.
There is a point to stimulate appetite even.
There is a point to relax them right on the upper forehead, and she always get one there.
She is hissy when the vet is feeling and poking her, but after all needles are in position, she quickly starts to relax and her pulse slows down too.
It's very cool!
