    Good morning!!

    Lucy's

    AMPS = 153
    +3 = 65

Lucy just gave me the lowest number she has ever been as far as I know.
Little surprised because she bounced last night, and her AMPS number was a bit high....
I don't need to feed her HC food yet, do I???

No....how about two tsp of LC and retest in 30 mins. Lather, rinse, repeat to try and get her to surf.

If she drops below 50, then you might want to give her a tsp of gravy.

You're welcome. This is a great number! A little early but you can use food to control it.

I just fed her 2 tsp of LC food, and will test in 30 min, which is exactly at +4.

By the way.... I can't make sense why this method is called "lather, rinse, repeat".... confused_cat

"lather, rinse, repeat" usually means test in 30 minues, feed a bit, test in 30 minutes, feed a bit, test in 30, feed,..etc.

Yes, yes, I understand that, Dyana.
But I'm having a hard time picturing in my mind why this method is called that.
Which doesn't really matter, but would help me to remember better.
What I picture in my mind from these words is facial washing, nothing like feed --> test --> feed --> test.

    OOhhhh, I just googled it.
    It's an idiom...
Still doesn't make sense. Sounds like a shampoo instruction.

    Yes, I just checked +4 and it's 70.
    She is a bit up.
Do I still Lather, Rinse & Repeat?
    2 tsp of LC again?

I would. It's still a little early in the cycle and she has another hour or two before nadir. She's surfing along real nice, and you want her to stay surfing along real nice. I would give her another two teaspoons or so of LC.

Just fed her another 2 tsp.

    I have a question!
At which point do I stop Lather, Rinse & Repeat?

For example, if she goes up more then 20%, do I stop?
If she surf around the same number, do I continue until +5? Or +8?

You can test again in 1 hour if you want to. It's just data gathering time right now. She seems to be surfing along purrfectly. I would test in 30 until nadir unless she starts to come up a lot. If she keeps surfing, you can try not feeding and seeing if she keeps the surf going [IMG]

I will test her again at +5, which is 50 min after the last 2 tsp LC food.

I don't really know when her nadir comes....
She gives me the lowest number at preshot test sometimes, around the middle sometimes, or early in the cycle sometimes...
But like you said, it's the data gathering time .... I really hope she will be a predictable cat once she settles down.

You can always stop giving the "snack" and see what happens with Lucy's numbers. If they drop, then give more food.

I think the "lather, rinse, and repeat" is a "jojo'ism". When I first joined FDMB, there was a vet tech, Jojo, who was very active on the board in general and in particular, in LL. She began having health problems and eventually disappeared. Jojo was notorious for typos (e.g., "vines" instead of "vibes") and coined certain expressions that have been used continuously.

    Thank you, Sienne!
Now that makes sense! Thanks for explaining about the jojoism.

Her +5 is 74, a little bit up again.
I am going to stop giving her the snack, and see what happens at +6.
There will be times when I can't stick around to keep feeding her, like AM cycle on weekdays, so I want to see what she'll do without added food when I can stay at home.

She is dropping again without food.
I just gave her 2 tsp of LC.....

She is up a bit, +7 is 76.
I'll see where she'll be at +8 without food again....

She is up a bit again at +8.
I want her to be a little higher before PMPS, so gave her 2tsp LC again.
I'll give her a break and test at +10 next....

    Re: 6/9 Lucy PMPS=110; +2=76; +3=68; +4=85

    Am I doing OK?
And if she is up again at +5, do you think it's safe to go to bed until maybe +10 or so?

I'm also worried about from tomorrow as I have to go to work....
Today, both her preshots were blue, but went green at +2 or +3....
Do you think she will be OK even if I'm not at home to feed the small snacks?
I can leave her some food, but I doubt if she will eat it....
