Good morning!
Lucy's appetite was good this morning, but she seems so sleepy since last night.

Thank you, Wendy the Neko's mom, for checking on us late last night, and letting me know that Lucy was bouncing.
It's true she hadn't been green for a while....
Before you told me that, I though they would bounce only if they went dangerously low.
She was still a little higher this AMPS, but at least I know why.....

I have a question!
Does "bouncing" make a cat feel any different?
I ask because Lucy seems more sleepy, even a little tired since yesterday evening.
I don't think she is feeling sick because she still wants to eat, but her naps seem a little deeper.
Whenever I approach her, she says "meow", puts her head up and looks at me expectantly for a little treat, but mostly she's been sleeping.

It's hard to say but I would imagine that any time numbers change rapidly, kitty is very aware. Friends of mine who are diabetic said they definitely feel the difference.

It's interesting because when cats are first dx, the feel rotten. Then the insulin depot gets established and they start to feel better but if it takes time to find the right dose and they stay in 200-300s, they start to feel fairly decent. Then the kicker is that when you finally get them into normal numbers, they may, at first, seem like they felt better at higher ones. Their bodies have to adjust again. But they do and soon you see the kitty you remember before FD....playful, happy, etc.

It explains why one day she was a bit higher but she was feeling great, and the next day her numbers were better but she seemed more tired.
So she needs time to adjust...
Before today, I though the cats' mood would change almost instantaneously as the numbers change.
I learn something every day here.... it's great!

Her +2 is 115. Looking better.
I have to go to work now, but will try to come home as soon as I can to catch her nadir if I can....

Hello!

She is feeling much better this afternoon, not so sleepy any more.
The sub-Q fluid might have perked her up.

She gave me a green PMPS again.

AMPS = 160
+2 = 115
+8 = 106
+10 = 101
+11 = 86
PMPS = 88

She was kept dropping till +11.
I was going to stall if she was lower at PMPS, but +11 and PMPS were almost the same, so I went ahead and shot her the usual dose at the scheduled time.
Did I do OK??

+2 is 77.
Does she need to be fed 2 tbs or so?
Or should I wait and check +3 to see how she does?

Lucy's +3 is 94, and it's coming up.

Does this look like she is going to surf nicely tonight?
I'd like to give Lucy a break for a couple hours and not test until bedtime, +5 or +6.
Do you think that's OK?

For some reason I suck at getting blood today, and I've had to poke her more than once for each test.
Both her ears are red and look sore, and it's upsetting Lucy and me......

Just occurred to me that nobody may be up if I wait till +6, in case I need to scream for help...

Not sure if it's a bounce or an early nadir. I know if Neko starts lower she nadirs earlier. When did Lucy eat tonight?

Lucy ate at 6:30 pm, right after the shot.
Bounce or not bounce, do you think it's safe for me to sleep for 4 hrs or so?

I would think so. Lucy sometimes drops later in the cycle, but not as low as earlier in the cycle.

I will sleep for a bit, and get up to test her at +9....

I really wanted her to surf in higher end of green ~ lower end of blue tonight.
My poking was disastrous today, so at least I wanted to keep her in good numbers to justify all the torture....
