Var-ee and Rory

Member Since 2013
woke up early and there were 2 BM on the carpet in the hall  .......very unusual behavior since I had just cleaned all 3 litter boxes before going to bed.. Rory just was not feeling well yesterday and I wonder if its his way of letting me know something is not right?? Today he started purring again. also is Lantus suppose to smell so nasty? I wasnt sure why Rory had such a bad smell coming from where I give him doses,.. a while back.. and today I removed excess from the syringe and realized that is what stinks!!

Lantus smells like really cheap band-aids. the plastic ones that leave too much sticky residue on your skin when you try to remove them.
Is that what you are smelling?

When do you smell it? When you give the shot and you lightly touch the spot, is it wet? Do you smell it then? Or later?

I smelled it when I flicked the needle to remove bubbles and overfilled it, so I had to squirt a bit out.. it smelled more like a decomposing animal to me :( very strong, and I had also smelled the same thing once on Rory. I must have accidently missed getting the needle in. It was a while back now.. at least 3 weeks ago. I was washing his ears because they were getting oily from the polysporin. I thought it was that making the odor, but it was the insulin and it was shortly after when I first started using Lantus

Nice blues for Rory today.

I usually give Neko a quick sniff after the shot to make sure it all got in. It is pretty horrible smelling stuff.
