Yuck. Just yuck. I just called in for a new vial of Lantus, and will be picking it up soon. And at my visit to Petsmart today, I bought Dusty a toothbrush so that we can keep on top of dental stuff. I did check out her teeth and things *seemed* normal. But my normally complacent and sweet cat basically took an 'oh HELL no' attitude toward my examining her teeth...so the check was probably not as thorough as it could have been.

Down to the low pinks for her +6. I'll be checking again at her +8 to see if she's going back up or not.

I got some new Lantus and so will be switching to it tonight. Tried the teeth brushing, with an emphasis on the word <i>try</i>. I'll be checking out a couple of videos on the subject before trying again.

Nice slide down for Dusty today! I know how you feel about yuck yuck yuck. I hope she settles into her new dose quickly and it brings some numbers that are great, great, great.
Good luck with the teeth brushing! Oliver would have none of it, but i see a number of cats here who get their little tooffers brushed.

Thanks, Marie! I'm hoping this new insulin will be more potent and she starts that downward trend that we all like to see. Poor Dusty - between the high numbers and my failed attempt at tooth brushing, she's having a bit of a rough day.

I hope you and Oliver are having a good Saturday!

Gave her her shot an hour early. My schedule is quite flexible and I wanted to try to avoid the really high pre-shot numbers from the AM. Also started a new Lantus vial. She's drinking more than normal, going to the water bowl several times throughout the day when usually she'll go once, if at all. I guess it's to be expected, though, given the numbers.

Doing some BG Salmon for dinner. Our first time with the BG brand and hoping she likes it!

Oh no! It is that kind. I got several different flavors, all of which were in very good quantities at my local Petsmart. I guess maybe I should go stock up on them if it turns out she likes them. Thanks for letting me know!

Down more than 100 in her +2(.5ish). Perhaps it's a bit too soon to know whether it's the new insulin that's responsible for the drop, but I'm happy to see it! And, needless to say, I'll be setting an alarm to get a +4 and then potentially throughout the night.
