Morning I think I did a fur shot last night, looking at Maggie's +3 of 175! I shot in the scruff and near same area as where I had given fluids earlier and didn't go deep enough. Oh well, Mags will get back on track. She's feeling good, chatterbox, good appy, taken part of her meds, and now napping on my, uh excuse me, her bed. Four P's, probably no prezzies for Detective's rounds, as she had them two days in a row.
Mags was still peeing outside the box yesterday, even after the prezzies. Instead of the pee pads, I placed a large piece of plastic at the entrance, and she seems to be moving further in the box, paws crossed this works.

The weather forecast is for a cool down temps in the low 70's, nice, heavy fog this morning.

Detective Poo, making early rounds. Drat on the fur shot, but you are absolutely right, she'll recover and get back on track. I hope the sheet of plastic does the trick. Was she in the box and sticking her butt over the edge?

Liz, yes, Mags was in the box and sticking her bum out and then urinates on the pee pad. I just started using the pee pads. Any thoughts as to why she would do this, maybe arthritis. It's a low entry box and easy for her to enter. Amy mentioned that her sweet GA Frankie when constipated and had prezzies, would also pee outside the box. We think the prezzies and pee both come so fast together that it happens. But Mags is doing it without the prezzies factor. :? I guess I need to rule out a UTI.

Good idea on the plastic and the LB, it just may work. Sometimes I think too that as they age they just get lazy.... i dunno! Might be good though too to rule out a UTI. Wishing you luck!

I hope Maggie gives you some green today. Good luck figuring out why she is peeing outside the box. Maybe she thinks the pee pads are for her to pee on.

We finally made green. I was about to take a walk earlier, but then decided to sit down and have a yummy cranberry muffin and got sleepy. I decided to rest for 15 minutes but then fell asleep sort of, and it turned into an hour, and no walk. It's still early though.

Michelle, Glad your weather is nice today. It might be getting older with Mags.

Sorry to hear about Maggie's out-of-the-box accidents.

I recently started putting pee-pads outside of the LB to catch extra litter, and this last week I've noticed that someone (ahem, Ripley) has been leaving prezzies on them, but only about half of the time. Maybe Carla's onto something...

I don't know on the LB, have you changed anything? Position of the box or type of litter? Great idea on the plastic!

Aw, I'm sorry Mags is still peeing outside the box....but it does sound like she thinks she's IN the box! Still, ruling out a UTI is a good idea.

BTW, Frankie isn't GA...she's still with me (and keeping me awake half the night this week :roll: :shock: ). Mario is our recent GA.

Nice greens for Maggie....please remind Trix how to do that!

Hi and thanks for the visits. I was just out for a short while to finish up an errand and crowds everywhere. I did get my McDonald's FF fix. Mags finished all the Cowboy Cookout I left her, so i know she's rising. She's sleeping like a baby. I just did her fluids while she kept dozing.

Josie, I had to laugh with Ripley leaving part of her Prezzies on the pee pad, which was meant to catch litter. :lol: I think Carla's right that they must think it's for them. Why wasts a good pee pad.

Hi Ann & Tess, yes, it sure was great getting the marine layer back. Perfect day here today. I'm so glad I don't live inland where all the fires are destroying so many acres and homes.

Amy, ohmygod_smile I'm so sorry. I know it was Mario that crossed the bridge. I don't know what I was thinking. No excuses here, but guess we better ask Elsa to hurry up on the Barista training to wake us up.

Hi Ann.......I keep trying to picture what Maggie is doing, while peeing.

I once had a small dog, while living in an upstairs apt. and I thought I could train him to use a litter box. i was pretty ticked that he would pee right outside the box, and I never saw him do it, until one day, there he was with two front feet in box, and back end and feet, outside. He was trying. Little sweetie.

I thought maybe Mags had arthritis in back legs and it hurt to step in, but I think you said she is totally in the box?
How about a totally different box? A cardboard box, just temporarily? Just a change, might trigger something in her.

I got that idea, 'cause one of DD's cats pees in any cardboard box, left laying around....hehehe

ETA: in answer to your question in Check's condo. The tapazole is for hyper-T. His thyroid level is so much better since taking it.
Clindamycin is for the gingivitis.

Don't worry, Ann! Between civvies and sugarkitties, we've got so many names/kitties to juggle!! I agree....we need to get Elsa trained ASAP!!

Hi Barb, thanks for the cardboard box idea. They also have these throw away litter boxes at Target, I seem to remember. I sure would like to learn the cause of it though. She's feeling good overall.
Well, I missed this last pee session, but it looks like part of the pee landed on the plastic, along with some litter, as it's wet litter. A teeny amount made it into the box.
Mags is all the way in the box with four feet, but her bum is sticking out far enough that she likes it to land on the floor/carpet. :?

Thanks Amy so much; yes, we sure do have a lot of sugar kitties and civvies to juggle. I think I am the only one without a civvie.

To add Mario in to the discussion...he also had a tendency to hang his bum outside the box, too :roll: :lol: !

Hmmm....maybe we need to find a civvie for you and Maggie ;-) !
