Hello everyone!!! Long time no see!!!

It's been a while since I posted a condo for Champ and I thought I should probably get one out there since he has a vet appointment tomorrow and it would be WONDERFUL to have some good thoughts come his way that everything is well with him. He's just going in for his yearly senior check-up so I don't anticipate any bad news. He's been in excellent health and hasn't given me any reasons to worry. As a matter of fact, he has recently, over the last week, realized that he can still get up onto the kitchen counters. He hasn't done this in YEARS so the counters aren't cat-proofed. While he can still get up on the counters, he has seriously lost his cat-like grace and, you guessed it, started knocking stuff over. Unfortunately, last night one of the things he knocked over, onto the kitchen floor, was a large pepper shaker which, since it isn't used very often, was completely full of pepper.... all over the kitchen floor....with shards of ceramic intermixed. I couldn't even get mad. I was so glad to see him get up on the counter, the loss of a pepper shaker I seldom used just didn't seem like a big deal. But then, later last evening, he jumped up on the end table by the couch where I was sitting, trying to get my attention, when his big fat hairy butt knocked over my HUMONGOUS Diet Coke my daughter had kindly picked up for me. Of course, the drink was in a disposable cup with a flimsy lid and the drink went ALL OVER MY CARPET!!!! He did get yelled at that time. DO NOT feel sorry for him!!!! Big fat hairy cat butts should not be where they can knock over someone's Diet Coke!!! Well, the mess was cleaned up and the carpet is none the worse for wear. Thank goodness the carpet I put in is a color that easily disguises cat mess-ups!!

In looking around LL, it's very easy to see that things have sure changed!! I certainly don't recognize very many names anymore, though it's nice to see some old-timers still around (if your cat still having FD can be called "nice"). While I don't post a condo for Champ very often, I did come on every day when Mannie was sick, saying my prayers along with everyone else. It felt like a family member had passed when Mannie went over the Rainbow Bridge. Michelle was so good about taking pictures and videos, telling such wonderul stories, that it was very easy to feel like Mannie was "mine." I knew everything about him, all his mannerisms, likes, and dislikes. I swear I knew what his fur felt like. I cried buckets, still do every once in a while when Michelle posts a video or even just talks about him. I'll miss him greatly. I worry A LOT, if Mannie's passing affected me so much, how I'm going to do when it's Champ's time. He's my only pet. I've had him since he was a baby and I've always worked from home since I've had him (he turned 12 this past March) so we have a really strong bond. He's more like a dog than a cat....follows me from room to room, even interrupting his nap to get up and move if I go to a different room. I'll just have to do my best to keep him healthy!!!! I've attached a couple pictures of Champers. In one, my daughter is holding him and you can see how HUGE he is. In the other, he looks so much smaller. It doesn't even look like the same cat!!

I hope everyone is doing well and has had a great day!!! I'll probably post tomorrow after Champ's vet appointment. Good thoughts, people!! :-D

Hi Patty. Got a chuckle about poor Champ letting his butt get him into trouble. Hey, it's not his fault that fat hairy butt follows him everywhere he goes.

Judging from the first pic, he's a big guy.

Take care and have a great evening.

Hey Patty.....nice to see you!! :-D
You ain't kidding about ummm, big butt......I didn't know Champ was so big! :-D

I'm sending tons of good vetty vines for him, for tomorrow. It's gonna be a great visit! :-D

Champ's not that big. Your daughter is just small!

It's great to see a Champ condo. I think the Coke spill was Champ's way of suggesting that hardwood floors are far more kitty friendly!

Sending tons of good vetty vines.

(Miss you. Come back to visit more often!!!)

Paws crossed for a great vetty visit and report tomorrow. Low stress too.

Champ sounds a lot like my Shadow. Same behaviours, follows me from room to room, hangs out where ever I am and very dog like.
She just turned 12 last saturday.
I too, don't know how I'm ever going to get thru when it's her time and I try to count my blessings constantly for every day that I am gifted to have
her with me. I even haven't been walking my 4+ miles for the last 2 years just to not skip any time to be with her. (gonna have to start walking again  )
It was hard to lose Mannie and Moonie and Rueben and Max...and Mowgli...and Noni... and I can just keep going....
each time really brings so many tears knowing what will come someday.....

so I hope Champ and Shadow and of course, all our friends will have a lot ( a whole lot) more time with us.
I just bought a digital recorder so I can catch purr sounds and all the other cute noises because those seem to be one of the hardest things when they
first leave. ( not hearing them ever again)
I actually have a recording ( tape deck from the 70's) of the Lorax that I can't get rid of because it has my little dog sneezing on it and its the only
sound of hers I have. I would record stuff like that so I could listen to it over and over when I was a kid.... and the show only came on tv once a year.

Shadow hasn't knocked any cokes over though...
You just gotta love him.... big butt and all! cat_pet_icon

Hi Patty, so nice to get a Champ condo and what a nice report, even if he did kick over the giant Diet Coke with his big, but cute butt! My gosh, he is a big cat. Looks like a big Teddy Bear. Sending lots of good Vetty vines for tomorrow.

I guess I should have done a retest at +8 cuz I'm beginning to believe it may have been a bad strip!! I didn't question it at the time because Champ has been kinda bouncy lately, but even I should have realized a jump from 151 to 387 wasn't likely! Especially since we just started a new pen this morning.

Awesome to see a Champ condo...this needs to happen more often!!!

I do need your phone number, so PM me. I'm sure I have it...but I wouldn't rely on my ability to track it down  .

Sending tons of good vetty vines to you for tomorrow!!!

Great to see you again! Sending lots of positive vetty vines for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in to see Tess too, I have a new kitty too, Emma. Check out our yesterday's condo for some pix. I think she could easily give Champ a run for the money for getting into trouble and she's only a third his size!

Extra good and positive vetty vines for Mr. Handsome. I agree with Sienne....we'd love it if you came back more often :-D

Hello lady!!!! What a funny pic. Danielle is little, but Champ is HUGE. What a fuzzy silly kitty. It is so nice to see a Champ condo. You need to come around a little more often. Miss ya lots. Have a great day!!

HI Patty - :-D

A day late in the post, but I did want to say thanks for all. I guess one does not realize the impact on has on others lives, until something happens to change the status quo. I am so glad that Mannie's condos were what they were: a refuge for some, a humorous stress reliever for others, akin to time spent with a good cup of coffee and the morning paper for others... along with the serious side of FD. Hopefully we helped a few.... I miss him too - and then I read all the wonderful comments from so many people, and realize he will never truly be gone.... always a part of LL, always a part of so many people's hearts. And I truly believe that you will do just fine whenever it is Champs time... the compassion lies within, you will find it.

take care, and thank you for being who you are.
