489 +11

Still in bounce. J.D. ate his 1st Breffis, and then we went for a short morning walk, and then he ate his 2nd Breffis.

I did notice at +7 when I woke up, that his eyes were dialated (they are a lot anyway, and it was dark in the house), but does that mean anything?

Anyway, off to get ready for tbp.

I hope everyone has a good day.

HI Dyana - dilated eyes could mean several things I think - Leo's eyes get dilated when we are fighting and smacking but also when he sees an interloper outside in his territory. e J.D. to come back down!

What a bouncing sugar boy! Paws crossed he bounces back into some prettier colors! My goodness, I just realized that since J.D. eats two breakfasts that must mean that you get up very early!

Dyana,

If JD`s eyes stay dilated even when you take him into the light, it can be a sign that he has high blood pressure.

The only symptom Wink ever had that he was hypoglycemic, was absolutely huge dilated eyes. Even bright light did not contract those "Roswell alien" eyes. It told me time to test and do the food support routine.

Thanks, I checked this morning when there was more light in the house, and they were fine. I will try to make an appointment to get his blood pressure checked again sometime in the next few weeks.

Dyana,

Yes I would get him checked. I had a cat Andy(GA) pictures are in my photobucket in my signature, that looked very much like J.D. and one day he was in the extra bedroom and I noticed his pupils were huge. I opened the blinds to let the light in and they stayed that way, I knew something was WRONG.
I took him to the vet and they checked his blood pressure and it was very high.
They told me to take him to the ER vet as he had to get IV medicine or his retinas could detach and he could go blind if that happened.
I hope J.D. is alright and that it was just that his pupils were dilated due to it being dark. He sure is a handsome boy.

Terri

J.D. greeted me when I came home from work, and is anxiously waiting for me to take him outside for a walk.

J.D. is doing it with his tail again. http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=91519

Zener gets his anal glands expressed about every month or so. His walking gets even more wobbly when they get full, so we know it has to be uncomfortable. I hope that does it for J.D.

I noticed it last night. I touched his tail and he pulled it in (closer to his back legs). He's doing it tonight too, on again off again sometimes pulling his tail in towards his body when I touch it and sometimes partially dragging the tip of it on the ground. I made an appointment for 8:00am on Saturday at the one vet I know that does blood pressure checks, and I'll have his anal glands checked again. I hope it's not too uncomfortable, because I don't think J.D. can reach his butt to lick it nor do I think he can scoot his butt along the carpet to relieve himself.

You are SUCH a good Mama to notice these things about your boy...no matter what these things turn out to be, YOU noticed them and are doing something to check him out! You are SO good Dyana...sending hugs to the three of you~hope you allhave a godo day and I hope J.D. will be good as new soon.... :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Dyana, I've noticed the same with Rosy today. I've checked her rear which she avoided my touch. There is a bit of poo stuck right before her anus thus the discomfort. Could be the same with JD; hard & dry stool, constipation.
I have been giving Rosy the Miralax daily but the hair shedded might have caused this. I'll be giving her the smashed pumpkin later. Will be calling my vet on this.
