So, due to our travels and work schedule of our cat sitter, we're still using a "Don't Shoot if <125" protocol. The result is now seven cycles of no insulin. The numbers have ranged from 77-112, which is good, right?

Tomorrow and Thursday are my friend's days off. She is willing to grab extra tests...are there more important times to test than others to give us the best picture of what's going on with Alfred? Should I have her trying hard to get a +6, for example?

Also, if the numbers stay like this...what should be my new protocol when I return home. I will be back with Alfred a week from today, Tuesday, April 16th.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

No advice from me, but those are fantastic numbers without insulin! If Alfred can go 14 days under 120 we would consider him OFF THE JUICE! Looks like maybe your time away was a blessing in disguise! Keep it up Alfred!! :thumbup

Looking at your spreadsheet, it looks like your impromptu OTJ trial started on 4/7. By my calculations, when you return on 4/16, you will be on day 10 of your OTJ trial.

Guess Alfred didn't want to wait until you got home to start his OTJ trial.

Congratulations! Go Alfred, Go!!!!

I'd rather be conservative since your friend isn't testing they way you do. Right now, Alfred's SS looks wonderful (anti-jinx). I'd rather wait to say this is an "official" OTJ trial until you're home and can get more tests in.

Thank you all for the encouragement and the advice. I will have her get some more tests in the next few days and then I will also resume more frequent testing in a week. Hopefully Alfred and his pancreas will keep up the good work!! (No jinx!!)
