Jupiters AMPS was 277 .. not sure why +2 went higher - was 326.

Was very happy (but also worried) last night when Jupiter finally got a blue number!

Still gotta keep working on getting him transitioned completely to pate - I really think it will help bring his numbers down.

Update: Found a bag of their old treats (temptations) on the floor and chewed open (not sure which cat got to them/when/or which all cats ate some of them). I had the bag of treats up high, and I put the whole bag of treats in a sandwich bag since they usually arent able to chew thru multiple layers. =[ (Was saving them to give to a lady who feeds stray cats near her house) Guess I am going to have to baby proof cupboards or should I say cat proof them.

oh those high carb treats. :o

I"m pretty sure that how Shadow became diabetic because of those. After her fang removal, I was letting her have way too many and I'd put them in the "really bad for you" category.

Glad to see Jupiter got a blue....
those can become addictive once they start coming and you'll want more and more.... :-D

I really dont understand why his number was a little high - I did take away their food for the 2 hours before the PMPS

Re: 4/5 Jupiter PMPS-328

Treats typically have grains in them, which turns to sugar in their bodies. The #s are a reflection of the snacking that Jupiter probably did. They'll eventually go down, but it may take up to 72 hours to clear out of the system. It may also be sooner than that, and that would depend on Jupiter's system. ECID (every cat is different). My cat, Blackie, has snagged a kibble or 2 here and there if I wasn't vigilant about picking up the civvies' food after they ate, and her #s rose too. Just keep doing what you're doing, and things will be back to normal soon enough. :-D

Re: 4/5 Jupiter PMPS-328/+2-298 & question

I wont be able to be here tomorrow to get a +2 on Jupiter. Is this okay? Still give him the normal dose? I will be leaving out plenty of catsickles and wet canned food. Wont be home for about 6 hours and have to leave right after giving him his shot.

It all depends on where his numbers are. If Jupiter's numbers are lower than where you're comfortable, you can leave some MC or HC food out as insurance.
