Good morning everyone,

I bought some automatic feeders yesterday to take care of the +9 (3 am/pm) feeds. I didn't buy the batteries so I had to wake up after all. I had a lovely number this morning but I don't know what's going on with that 122 at +6.5.

Angie is really angry with me at the moment over her testing. She won't sit on my lap at all. I don't know how much is her tail - it seems much better - and how much is desire to stay away from me. She gets cross when I touch her ears. She's letting me do the tests but she's hasn't looked at me with a happy face for days. Just these big cross eyes. It's breaking my heart!

Grace

Yesterday's condo is here.

Is she getting a treat every time you test? I often forget to give one and have to remind myself to go get it.
You want it to be something she really really likes. It takes a while, but even mine now purrs when I say "test" and she hears the beep beep when I put
in the strip..... then she cops a little attitude like ... "aren't you done?" but is happy to get the treat.

I can see her tail making it more difficult to test. Maybe if you sat beside her so her tail doesn't get pushed around....?

I've worked it out so her tail is ok with the testing - I was just hoping that it's partly her tail that keeps her hiding under things and making cross faces at me. I need to do better on the treats. I was giving them to her at first but she wasn't so into them - I was just giving her a snack of her normal food though. Time to go source some treats!

Thanks for the reminder - there's always something new that I've forgotten when it comes to this diabetes management stuff!

Hi Grace, sorry to hear Angie's little ears and her tail are bothering her.

Once she is OTJ, it might be worth investigating keto-diastix strips. They test for Glucose and Ketones so there's no need to poke her regularly. When K was OTJ, I relied primarily on the urine strips (3-4 tests weekly) and periodically ran blood tests. Keto-Diastix

Happy Day 8!

Good night everyone,

Thanks for the ideas today. I can't believe I forgot to test her at pmbg! I realised after she ate dinner.

See you tomorrow.
