3/15 Shadow 139 +5~102 +11~108

last night she went to 107 at bedtime. wish she would stay there.

yesterday


This morning ... almost 5 hours after DH gave her breakfast she's at 139. fed her 6% ... see where she is in 4 hours.
vet tomorrow at 10am to see about her glands.... probably get a different vet.


I just don't know what to think....


I so wish we had a medical tricorder.

I can't see the picture, but am a star trek fan so guessing it's a picture of one of those, LOL. I'd like one too please! And a transporter, for instant travel home to check on kitties :lol: I hope you are both having a good day and that you end up with a good vet tomorrow

Sorry that you have to go to the vet, I'm sorry I didn't catch up with you guys on Shadow medical condition, and sorry to ask whats wrong with the glands ?

Aseel, Shadow had her anal glands expressed last friday... said they were full. I'm hoping they are what's giving her a little higher run in numbers and she
needs a second expression on her anal glands.
She has a dental scheduled in 11 days simply because the tartar buildup is noticeable. She had a dental exactly one year ago where they pulled teeth..
mainly her fangs. She has feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions and had 1 previous dental where she had to have many teeth pulled. So I expect them all to
go eventually. (due to the forl )
The only way to know if her teeth are cracking more is by xray so she might as well have them cleaned too, unless they take them all. I'm guessing she
still has at least 15, but they are all the little ones.

These are the two most likely culprits in why her numbers are going up and she acts like she doesn't feel great altho' she will play...
her appetite is waning but she doesn't like the better canned foods , eats fine if I give her something she likes better.
She also keeps leaving bed at night and laying on the bathroom mat instead of with me. That's always a sign with her too.


Glad her number moved back down as it has been doing....
that's what makes me feel like it's something bothering her instead of just needing to re-start the insulin. I can be a wishful thinker at times.

Shadow, stop worrying your bean! At least she came back into normal numbers again. Paws crossed for good vetty visit.

Hi Rhiannon, sending good vetty vines to Shadow. Paws crossed that these higher bgs are due to dental issues or her glands. Not that I wish medical issues upon her, of course, just hoping that it's an easily remedied problem. Her BGs are still looking good, though.

How sensitive is Shadow to carbs? I find that 6% is too high for Kismet... he does much better on 2-3% carbs. Just an idea!

sorry to hear about all the trouble she's having, I just youtubed the anal glands expressed doesn't seems like a major thing thank god. hope they leave her some teeth too, removing seems so extreme, we had Noni's teeth cleaned together with her last surgery, doctor said its all good, but since then we started to blend the food for her in the mixer and make it milk shake liquid a like. she started eating better since then. maybe you will need to do that at some point.

almost in bed and Shadow disappears.
I just spent almost half an hour trying to find her. DH even got up and helped me look. The back half of the house is cut off ... keeping that hall door closed.
So she had 4 rooms total. I always feel like she's opened a door and left the house when this happens.
She was as far back in my little closet as possible being invisible. I'd already looked there and groped around.
And no poo today... ( a first for her)
so good news is maybe it is her glands hurting and we have a vet appt in the morning.
bad news is it's 11 hours away.
watching her for a bit...
