This is getting too weird. Last night was the 2nd time I've posted that PurrFace was getting an increase beginning the next cycle only to find him dropping low. I am 100% convinced that they can read our thoughts. When I gave him his shot last night I told him "this is your last chance to avoid the increase.". When I tested at +3 and saw the 168, a 128 point drop, I asked him "are you going to keep us up tonight just to show us whose in the driver's seat?" and he looked up at me and meowed. I set the alarm clock and glad I did. I dicussed his dose with DW this moring. She noted that there was actually 2 things that changed Saturday after his AM shot that could have contributed to his high numbers during Saturday's PM cycle. One being the food change with the introduction of the Cowboy Cookout and the other being that she gave him his PM shot Saturday, not me, so there could have been a difference in the amout of insulin he received. After our talk I did adjust his dose this morning but instead of up I gave him the decrease he earned with his +6.5/40.
Off to the vet to pick up a prescription for more Lantus Pens. He wrote it with a 3 refill authorization this time so we should be good for a long time. We called his office asking for the scrip and he called us back 1/2 hour later and was on the phone with me for 15 minutes asking about PF, what dosage he was on etc. He said it was good that I didn't start him on 2 units BID as prescribed. The best thing was he isn't charging for his time or the scrip.
Thank you Ann, Rhiannon, Courtney & Karen for your visit yesterday.
Have a great day (evening) everyone. I'll be visiting the condos a little later.
