Yesterday was.... recover from bouncing day... mostly pinks, but almost yellow pink. Things are slowly starting to come back down after that nasty bounce from his blue runs are few days ago. The PM cycle last night was a good one. Mannie settled into a nice mid-level blue surf. YAY! It was great to see that. I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! All is well in MannieLand. Yesterday we had to get in some urine samples to the IM vetty so they can begin to test Mannie for Cushings. That was fun.... not.... they need two consecutive days urine, from the morning hours. :shock: They were fairly adamant about morning samples, as close to the same hour as possible. seriously? It was like asking a cat to pee on cue. :shock: :shock: :lol: I kept thinking,... there is no way.... :roll: I recently started to introduce the Breeze litter system here, which, when I thought about it, would make urine collection a "breeze" since it runs through the pellets, collects in the tray and voila - sample! When Mannie got sick I moved that LB upstairs for him, for days when he struggled with the stairs. He really didn't use it much, still preferring to hobble on down the stairs, silly boy! anyways --- I told him the other night that I needed a pee sample. From about 6AM. So if he wouldn't mind, could he please pee in that box, at 6AM, so I could get a sample. well imagine my "OMG!" when he did just that. Right on cue. Got sample #1. the rest of the day he went downstairs. So... day two rolls around. same thing. told him I needed a pee sample, about 6 AM. Please use the upstairs LB. And I'll be damned, but that's what he did, right at 6AM! Sample #2 collected and off to the labs they went. I just could not believe that whole thing.... right on cue with the piddle... Well done Mannie! It's as if he knew it was needed so he could get better. How incredible is that! :razz: Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. I think I can still say: Normalcy in MannieLand.

I kinda wanna play in the snows... so I was thinking.... lets ride that train again,the one that serves fuds and stuff and head on up into the mountains and have some snow play. Way to go Mannie!!! That is incredible. I swear they know what we are saying, but that is just the crazy cat lady in me talking right? Morning Michelle, t hat is so amazing how you were able to get the two pee samples in a row and at the same time. Mannie understood and wanted to help you. I swear they are smarter than humans. I hope you get the results back soon so you'll know what you're dealing with and cann begin treatment or rule it out hopefully. Sending more healing vines to Mannie. Those were some great pics of DGS yesterday swimming. He's really having the time of his life when swimming, so cute. Have a great swim time today and hope the weather cooperate for a later adventure.

I am not surprised at all. I so believe if you talk to your animals and ask them to do something they will. It just takes the beans a while to figure that out. Mannie is smart, he understands what you are asking for and he listens. Of course, he has to decide that he wants to do it and it's his idea....

It's great that you got the needed samples and now the tests can be done to find out if Mannie is a boyie or a girlie! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

And whatever he is, it's not going to change him at all. And if he does have cushings, then am I correct in thinking that shooting for blues is the lowest you want him to go?

Hmmm snow, more snow....ick. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am a warm weather girlie! But I do like train rides, especially when I can drive it really fast!

Oooh and the bean finally put all the rugs back in place and I promptly made sure to leave a little poo on three of them! Now, she has to clean them again! I so love that game. Making the bean wash all the rugs!

Morning Hillary I so agree - Mannie proved that the past couple of days. One huge reason why I talk to him all the time about what is happening with him, what we hope to do, and always ask him to let me know when he disagrees. And yes - they need to decide that they want to go along with it all. Gotta be his choice! I know - I am glad that the urine collection when so well. LOL on the boyie or a girlie! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: and you are right, nothing will chnage him, and I have no plans to try.... And I think so for now: should he have cushings, then blues are what we will aim for. Right now I cannot rely on him eating like he would if he goes low, dives etc. That may all change as I get more into this, but for now if works, he's content with it, and in all honesty he seems best when he is a low blue. So... that is the target. oh me too on the waiting for answers....

Hi Marje - I couldn't believe it, and bowed down, gave him kiss, and thanked my lucky stars. :lol: :lol: I didn't ask,,, I was so caught up in how in the world am I going to get two consecutive sample with such rigid guidelines and it totally skipped my mind. sheshhh! :roll: :? :lol: I need to call and ask. And yes on Mannie. overall he does feel good. mobility/muscle weakness is an issue, sometimes he wobbles, but it doesn't seem to phase him. and yes on the being though alot... so many health issues! getting old just sucks sometimes for kitties too. ;-) It is nice though that he is maintaining his CPC status... though sometimes it takes a little encouragement. ;-) THX on DGS - swim day and it was fun. A little peace for me now while he naps.

Michelle - you are truly the cat whisperer if you can get two pee samples on two consecutive days. I can't imagine getting one from Neko. :shock: It's hard enough getting ketone tests in.

Hi Wendy - oh I know on those pee samples. I couldn't believe it when I heard what they needed to test him. and for two days! :shock: :shock: :shock: I so know on what you wrote. I have never been successful in this before...ever. I am grateful for the Breeze litter system, which really made it work. I am hoping for blue tonight too. It has been a wild weather day here too - crazy stuff! and lots of winds!!
