Spot is a very happy kitty today! The window in the bedroom is open and he can lay on the window seat and enjoy life....however...Civvie Ali is being a bully and last night there was a BIG todo when Spot jumped up there to claim what is his. I had to spend quite a few minute calming him down after that ordeal. There was a little tussle this morning also...guess I need to get that calming spray again and put it on a bandanna around her neck.

All p's are in place...'specially the stinky one :-D

I am trying a different feeding schedule today....6am, 10 am, 3pm, 6pm, 10pm and 3am, just to see if there is any difference in bg numbers. Grammie will retest at +4 and give snack this morning since she will be home.

Have a wonderful Furday Everyone! It's gonna be 61 and rainy here, floods will start sometime this afternoon. Please keep those in the flood area in your prayers.

Happy Day 6 Spot...
maybe if the 4 hours brings the numbers down, you will feed at 6, 10, 2,6 instead of 6,10,3,6
You can change it around to see what works best! Hope you both enjoy your day!

Re: 3/12 Deb's Spot AMBG ~ 119/ AMBG +4 ~ 131

Don't know if the +4 after meals is the one I want to see either, lol!!

Ok, question now....for these meals...should they all be mini meals? If he is in the blues for his ambg, should his breffis be a small meal or his regular meal? He gets about 1/4 can (6 oz.) for meals, and the other half gets split up and watered down and he gets 2 tsp. at each mini meal/snack. How much do you guys give your OTJ/OTJ trial to eat and how many meals/hours apart?

I give Tasha 1/2 a ff can (3oz can) but honestly she just nibbles at it, and then goes back an hour later. I gave her this morning at about 3 hours before and took it away 2 1/2 hours before her AMBG. She never eats much at a time. Maybe she ate almost 1/3 of it maybe not that much. It brought her down to a 101 from a 121 yesterday without feeding her first. Tasha automatically does small meals. But it is not always convenient when she decides to eat. Good luck on day 6!

Quincy's on mini-meals, primarily to manage his vomiting but I think it helped enormously with his pancreas healing too. I make a bunch of food once a week or so (a combination of shredded boiled chicken breasts and Merrick Cowboy Cookout), and freeze that in ice cube trays. Each mini meal is about the size of one of those ice cubes. That's definitely the case for meals administered via his timer. Sometimes when I'm feeding him, he may get a little extra if he seems esp. hungry. I try to feed him every 3-4 hours, though if he's asleep during the day I won't wake him for a snack. He usually makes up for it at another time. I know with him on a chemo drug (Leukeran) I'm lucky that Quincy has such a good appetite. He is a little piggy, actually. '

Good luck with the rest of today!

brought himself down nicely from that 131! He is now lounging outside for a while until it gets to dark, then Spot needs to come in!

talk to Ronnie n Luna - she's the mini meal queen

and hurry up spot - my gum is getting old and my mouth is tired from all this chewing!!!!! Come on Spotty - we want to PARTY!!!!!!!

I sent a shout out to Jill to stop by. I think you're still ok but we'll just watch him the next few days and see which way he is going. Remember Jasper ran fairly high during his trial too, but he leveled out.

Thanks,Libby. He seems to be feeling ok...He sleeps alot...but that's what he does, lol...he's sitting next to me now, bright eyed and busy tailed, looking for more to eat. Goodness, I hope he levels out soon. I miss those greens.
