Good Morning LL! I was a half hour late with Muffin's shot this morning - I had the DGD's this morning, and just no time to do it before getting them off to school. Ava is feeling better this morning, her fever is gone, and she opted to go to preschool. I'm glad she's feeling better, but I was looking forward to spending the day with just her. She still has a nasty cough, but I could tell the minute she got up that she was feeling better.

I saw Muffin eating an hour before her shot, so she could have eaten earlier than that also. So this amps may have food behind it, or that may come into play later. It seems to take a long time for fuds to hit her. I was double checking my dose this morning, and I think I've been giving a tiny drop the last several days, so this morning she got a full size drop. While her numbers are ok, I'm not completely thrilled with the blue preshots. Makes me second guess whether she's really ready for OTJ or not, no matter what she's saying with her behavior. :lol:

:?: Is it possible the blue preshots are a result of getting insulin when she doesn't need it? Perhaps I won't know until we do a trial. This is day 6 on this dose, and she's only gone under 50 once, that I've caught anyway, and never under 40. So do you think I should keep shooting until those criteria are met, or, since she's not a typical insulin user (only seems to be here due to CP flares) should I do a trial after 7 days and see what happens? Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

Hi guys .. well no dosing advice from me, but these sure are pretty numbers! I'm glad that ava was feeling better .. seems like the cough is always the last thing to kick from a cold .. have a great day guys!

Morning guys, no advice here on the trial but maybe you should put a question in your subject so you can get that answered. Nice numbers for Muffin. Glad to hear your DGD is better. have a great day!

It's not must a matter of a week at this dose. Muffin needs to be in largely normal numbers for a week at this dose. There are a couple of AMPS that make me nervous. I don't know if, like today, she's eating too close to shot time or if she needs to have a snack at around +9 to see if her pancreas kicks in and brings the pre-shot number down.

+3.25 89. Muffin has spent her morning on her chair, by her heater, as usual.

Devon - They are definitely prettier than they were a few weeks ago, I just don't know that they're "I'm ready to go OTJ" numbers like I was hoping I'd be seeing by now. I need to don the patience pants again! :lol:

Michelle - Thanks on DGD - I'm using my unexpected time alone to do some housework. Somehow that doesn't seem like a fair trade! :lol:

Sienne - Thanks for weighing in. There are a few amps that make me nervous, as well. I normally feed her, if she asks, before I go to bed, but she doesn't always eat it all. She's really not much of a nighttime feeder. So I really don't know how many of the amps are food influenced, but I suspect since our shot time has gotten so late, that there may be more than I'd like. I'll start picking up her food before I retire for the night, and see if that helps. A +9 snack during pm cycle isn't really feasible around here, with all the other kitties in the house. I could start a +9 during the am cycle, even tho the pmps numbers are not bad at all, just to see if it makes a difference, if you think that would be helpful.

Hi Anne......just saying "hi" . and hope for numbers that make you happy, tomorrow. I know we all want green, but these are sure pretty numbers for Muffin.
Hope Ava gets rid of that cough soon, and is totally all better.

pmps 89 - very nice. She's been starving for dinner for hours, poor little thing. I hate that her shot time got so late, and she has to wait thru all the others getting fed. Maybe that's why she's been so annoyed lately? She thinks I keep forgetting her! ;-)

Lovely day today, I wonder if getting her back to her normal schedule might help with both the AMPS and her attitude?
