Morning Janet ~O)

Sorry, I can't advise, other than getting a +11, although this will be food influenced. You should have a better idea by AMPS, and
hopefully others will be around to advise. Congrats on that 1st

Looking at the SS, Callie probably earned a dose reduction between +3 & +10...

Good morning!

That 51 is at the end of the cycle. When she wasn't bouncing, her pattern seems to be that the AMPS was about the same as her late cycle number.

If so, that's fine, although you may need a dose reduction. If she's still about the same at PS, feed and wait 1/2 an hour, and test again.

Did you give low carb food? That's good. You want to stop her from dropping anymore, but not lose ground. (If she does drop more - like into the 40s/30s, then give a very small amount of high carb and/or rub some karo syrup on her gums.

Test again, maybe even twice (sorry Callie!) before the PS to make sure she isn't still dropping. Put each number in your subject line of this post as you get it, because we definitely want lots of eyes on Callie today. Also put the question mark and maybe that green face with the teeth in your subject line, and dosing advice too.

Lantus land has a whole system of when and how to go about the dose decreases. Tritone was such a difficult, weird case - I don't have experience weaning a perfectly normal cat off insulin...

Yeah it was canned food. And I can't edit the original post, remember? :( I don't know how to fix that...I might just have to start a new post when I get the AMPS.
Her +11 was 89. My mom is giving her a little bit of dry food to try to get it up a little more.

Feeding a teaspoon or two of LC with that 51 (I hope that's what you did!) is fine.

Are you going to be home today if you need to monitor Callie? Likewise, do you have a supply of strips and HC food should you need it?

Many of us will shoot numbers that are above 50. I completely understand if you're not comfortable shooting that low yet. While you've got a little time, I'd suggest thinking about what numbers you'd be comfortable shooting. Ideally, you won't need to stall but if you could post when you get your AMPS, we'll lend a hand if you need one.

My mom didn't end up giving her the dry food anyway. We're going to keep checking her and maybe just wait until 10 to give her the insulin. I'm worried about giving it to her if she's under 100. She's been having canned food all morning.

I'm so glad you didn't give the dry! Good job!

...It may be time for a small reduction - back to 1.75??

I'd love to hear what others have to say about that. Melanie, could you ask for dosing advice in your subject line...especially the overnight dose...she definitely goes lower overnight.
