Looks like Bailey is finally coming down from his little bounce, so it will be interesting now to see how he does on 1 drop. The other day I had him on 1.5drops and thought maybe I wasnt accurately giving any but that conclusion could be skewed by the bounce so we will see how he does on 1 drop and i will try 1.5drops again if this doesnt stick.

He is in a great mood, every morning now he bounces over to me while I make ~O) ~O) so that we can play the food game. Tiggy has now got in on the action too. So I spend 5 minutes shooting freeze dried treats across the kitchen floor whilst cats run everywhere. Bailey grabs it with his paws and holds it in his mouth and runs over with it and swallows it while he waits for the next one. Tiggy eats all his before walking back.

Re: 12/29 Bailey milk question - for Canadians maybe

I got the cats Whiskas cat milk for Xmas and they loved it and it didnt spike their BG.

I liked the idea of giving them milk more often to try and get more liquids into them (since cats dont drink enough I have heard and it may prevent or slow CRF).

I had heard lactaid was good but i could only find Natrel lactose free milk http://www.natrel.ca/en/product/natrel-lactose-free-cream-35/here at my local stores. So today I bought a small carton of Natrel 35% whipping cream - lactose free. ( fyi 35% is the fat solids percentage not lactose amount) It says it also has no sugar in it.

Anyone know if this is ok or not?

Re: 12/29 Bailey milk question - for Canadians maybe

Whiskas Catmilk contains corn syrup: Milk, Water, Nonfat Dry Milk, Malt Extract, Trisodium Phosphate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Guar Gum, Taurine, Carrageenan, Monoglycerides and Diglycerides, Sodium Caseinate, Sodium Citrate.

CatSip is a better brand to use: Lowfat (1%) Grade A milk, Lactase Enzyme, and Taurine. But I don't know if this is available in Canada or not.

Goat's milk is supposedly more digestible for cats than cow's milk is. Maybe you can try that.

Re: 12/29 Bailey milk question - for Canadians maybe

what about just adding water to the food?
I add one part water to two parts food, and Oliver loves to lap up the liquid.... sometimes he stops eating his food until I mix in more water.

I gave him some at +9 and you can see his BG shoot up. Might have done that anyway but I am not taking that chance so looks like the rest can go in my coffee ~O)
