Good morning to all of you on this lovely Caturday morning,

It is travel day for me and Shasta. We are headed home today and expect to get there just before PM shot time. I'm planning on eating breffis w/ my mom and sister and then getting on the road, but that won't be until +2 (when normal human beings should get up and start their day!)

Shasta is very ready to get back to her home and I'm ready for her to be there! She woke me up 3 times last night!! The first time, I thought I was going to kill her!!!! I admit, she had finished her overnight snack, but it was only an hour and a half after I had gotten to bed (+7) :-x The she woke me up sometime around +10 and +11.5  I, too, am ready to be back in my own bed. She just ate her breffis like a horse (and I know how a horse eats!) and now she's preening. Pee is good, poop is ok...not her normal sized stools, but it's poop, nonetheless! I count her waking me up as play time, so I guess you can say we have all the Ps in check!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Caturday! Blessings to all and the next time I report back, it'll be from MY home!

Re: 12/29 Shasta AMPS=253

Morning Deborah and we wish you a safe trip home and hope the roads are okay where you travel with the snowfall. Wow, Shasta is about as bad as Mags with the many wake up calls. You will need an early, early Mannie kitteh Barista delivery. I bet you can't wait to get home and turn the heat on at any temp you like. Have a safe trip and hope Shasta travels well and sleeps on ride home.

Hi Deborah,
Gracious, you didn't get much sleep last night!! Drive safely you two. I bet you are sooooo looking forward to being home, on your own pillows, your own temperature, etc.
Too bad you can't let Shasta drive and you nap on the way home
have fun

Hi Ann, no snow in my travels. I left Northwest Florida at 42 degrees and got to Central Florida at 73 degrees. No need for the heater down here! Shasta was a very grumpy cat the whole way home. I even tried to sing to her to get her to talk to me...didn't do much good. But, we are home now and she is resting happily on the back of the couch. Hope you and Maggie had a great day!

Hi Mary, Shasta has worse road rage than me. I just sing loudly at the stupid drivers...she hisses and tries to slash tires.  Happy to be home...8.5 hours is too long to drive after so little sleep. Hope you and Ollie had a lovely day!

Hi Liz, I LOVED her appy :!: but then I started wondering if it was so voracious because her numbers were back to being higher than her "usual" blues, lower yellows and some greens. Oh well. We're home, unpacked, and seeing where the numbers take us tonight. Hope all is well with you all tonight!

I'm glad you are home, safe and sound. Back to your usual numbers, right, Shasta? We are good. Zener is playing "tent"', sleeping under his favorite blanket over my knees.

I'm glad you're home safely and it looks like Shasta is back to blue. Have you given any thought to increasing her dose?

Liz, she's working her way back to "normal" numbers. We have a vet visit on Monday and I'm thinking it's about time to get a new vial of Lantus. Actually, I'm going to ask him about the pens of Lantus. Does our vet determine how we receive the Lantus? vial vs. pens? She'll be really angry to have to go back in her carrier  , but it won't last nearly as long!

Sienne, I'm going to let her settle back into a full .5u dose and see how she does. While I was at my parent's for the past week, she was receiving a skinny .5u most every shot. After she works her way back into the full dose, then I'll see (ask advice) if we need to go up in dose. I'm also not sure if the vet will need to do an anal sac expression while we're there. Last time, it helped drop her numbers down a little. Thanks for checking up on us...we'll be seeking advice very, very soon now that we're home and getting back into our groove!
