Well, that dive bomb to 37 was a bit of a surprise yesterday! Leo turned up his nose at most food I offered, including various gravies after the first couple teaspoons. He doesn't like Karo, I had to syringe a bit into him a couple weeks ago, when he started getting fussing during dive bombs. He did not like it. I'll have to get honey. I was pretty surprised to see him stay so low for so long without a meteoric blast into the stratosphere! He worked it baby!

This could be a trend, that he goes high for a trip, which masks a fall and I shoot the fall, which doesn't look as bad as it's going to be! NICE that this was in the AM rather than the PM this time! Funny thing is, when I saw the 37 on the meter, my first response was simply, "Oh brother, here we go again, what the heck did he do?" and not "Auaughghgh! Crap! He's going to die if I don't get Karo in him in 13 seconds!" Slowly learning. I'm not taking this lightly, but I'm also learning how he works and how diabetes works a little better. So it was a little interesting to see that was my reaction, compared to 3 months ago! :-D :-D :-D

Busy day with Doctor I missed yesterday due to Leo's drama, then going to see a great friend all day and night, so I won't be around. DH is in charge and has a party tonight he has to leave for at +10, so Leo will likely NOT get an injection unless DH comes home and tests, and I don't know if that will happen. But maybe.

So everyone have a great day!!!

Good morning Lisa,
Holy Toledo what a day you had yesterday! I hope all goes well today for all of you.
Have fun and give Leo a little scritch from me.

I hope you have a good day today, Lisa.
If Leo decides he likes one of his homes better than the other, he might start to settle more for that leg of the trip. I know J.D. is meowing softly when I'm driving to somewhere (meowing loudly if it's in the direction of the vet), and pretty darn happy in his carrier and rubbing his chin on the bars when we are driving in the direction of home.
Good luck with getting his insulin tonight.

What a crazy day for Leo yesterday. That's good that you've learned you don't have to panic and you know what to do. I hope you have a good day and Leo doesn't go too high on you.

That was a crazy day. But I like your observation they you are learning....and you are!

I hope you all had a great day.

I know this is a late reply - but thanks for the feedback!

HI Mary - yes, we had a day! It screwed up ALL our scheduling! I have Leo Lots of scritches and told him if he was good he could go out with Mannie and the gang :-D

Hi Dyana - I was wondering if he would figure out one direction versus the other. I don't know yet, but I will keep an eye/ear out for trends. We've had good and bad trips in each direction, but hopefully more good in the future! (Yeah, with the vet, ALL bets are off!)

HI Carla - yes, it feels good to know that I've got more than 10 seconds to make a decision after seeing a scary number! We didn't shoot, but it looks like he's not punishing us too badly for it.

Hi Michelle - I will get the maple syrup - I like it better than Karo too!

Hi Marje - what a day it was - thanks for saying. It's not exactly a skill I want to have to need to know .... but it is what it is!
