I don't know how fast the insulin dose increase works, but I'm already seeing better numbers since increasing his PM shot from .75u to .88u. They're not dropping as low as they were when he was on 1u and we're seeing blue again, which we didn't see while he was on .75u. His appetite seems to have decreased slightly as well. Whereas before, he was literally licking the bowl clean, he's now leaving about a bite or two left. Not sure if that's because he gorged himself on Sunday or also related to a better level of insulin.

You might want to see about getting some digital calipers to help with the microdosing. Many of us use them...it helps with consistency and also dialing in small doses.

What size syringes do these work on or all syringes the same size? Please excuse my ignorance as I don't really know much about needles, lancets, and syringes yet; that's one area still left for me to research.

Let me state at the outset that I don't use calipers. Marje, or one of the other people here may be able to go into greater detail. You use your regular syringes. You measure the dose you want then set the calipers based on that dose. What this gives you is what amounts to a template or a comparison for drawing up you subsequent doses. Since you're not yet using syringes with half unit markings, this should help with your consistency.

Just as an FYI and this may or may not make sense based on your shot times but most of us start our new thread (aka "condo") with the AM shot. It does get confusing if your PM shot is after midnight. It's entirely up to you. I had to look on your SS to see that these were the numbers from the PM cycle from yesterday.

Hi guys .. I don't think I've ever been into Michelangelo's condo before, so welcome from us! What a cutie in his photo!! No advice here on calipers, never used them myself .. I'm glad to see you're getting more blues again ..

Ah! Thanks. I thought it was a "new day, new thread" type thing. :-D

Re: 11/13 Michelangelo AMPS +295

We do open one condo, per cat, per day. It's just a matter of when you consider the "new" day beginning. Whatever is easiest for you will work.

Now I have no idea what's going on with his cycle as it's seeming his nadir might be offset by a few hours. I'm hoping it's new dosage wonkiness, but over these last few weeks of testing, I still haven't been able to definitively determine whether or not his little kitten metabolism might be helping to skew my numbers so bizarrely from one 12-hour period to the next.
