Re: 11/12 Bast AMPS 112

Yes, Misty, that's exactly what you want.

The "perfect" curve isn't a curve at all. It's when a cat sits in the normal range all day long, just like a cat who doesn't have diabetes. Most cats seem to start with high numbers at shot time, with a dip in the middle (sometimes a big dip!). A "smile" shape. As they get better, not only does the dose go down, but the numbers start to decrease. And the difference between PS numbers and nadirs is a lot less. A flat line is the "curve" you want to see.

Bast will still show you lower numbers "in the middle", and at some point you'll still see numbers below 50, which call for "less insulin". And eventually (fingers crossed anti-jinx) the dose goes down to zero and Bast will remain in normal BG ranges without insulin.

Bast going "up" to 112, well, that's not bad at all! Look at one or two of the spreadsheets of the folks with "OTJ" markers on them, and you'll see what they look like during the last month they were giving insulin.

Re: 11/12 Bast AMPS 112 +1.5 92

Carl provided a good explanation. Like I mentioned in your condo from Sunday, what you're looking for is a "flat" curve that's in normal numbers -- kinda like the way today is going, so far.

Re: 11/12 Bast AMPS 112 +1.5 92 +11.5 88

+11.5 and he is 88 sigh I wanted to move him back closer to 10:30 again. I don't want to shot that low- I would be up all night again.

Re: 11/12 Bast +1.5 92 +11.5 88 PMPS 101 first flank shot

waited the full 12 and he is 101 so he gets a shot and food.
I did my first flank shot! He was wiggling his head to play. he didn't want to be still. He laid down on his side and was ignoring me so I thought "well he has gained weight- maybe I can do that flank now" so I did a tent and shot. He didn't even move!

So now maybe we move from the neck to the flank? @-)

+2 125 hmmm maybe I fur shot on the flank?

Re: 11/12 Bast AMPS 112 +1.5 92 +11.5 88 PMPS 101 +1 118 +2

Nah, I would call those numbers pretty flat, not rising much. Did you feel for wetness at the shot spot? I'd stick with the flank if it's easier on both of you.
