03/05 Domino 211, Puff 125! Dose questions

Well, my daughter had surgery to remove her gallbladder yesterday, so I was not home at PM shot time to test. Considering the numbers that my kitties usually have, and knowing that I would be home shortly, I had my son to go ahead and give the usual insulin doses to my kitties. I came home about an hour later and SURPRISE -- both kitties are in the blue! That's not too surprising for Domino, but a BIG surprise for Puff. I was up about all night watching my daughter as well as the kitties.

Domino - had some green last night, back to yellow this morning but doing well, eating, sleeping, purring, and demanding some head rubs. Still, he is the rainbow kitty. I wish he would settle in the blues and greens! Should I make any changes to his dose?

Puff -- he actually surfed in the green last night, that's a first! He is still in the blues this morning. I was kind of afraid to give him a full 4.0 dose on a 125, so I backed off to 3.5. He'll probably bounce back high and I probably should have stayed at 4.0, but I knew it would be a hectic day for me trying to take care of my daughter, and I didn't want to have to worry too much about him also. He actually seems a little more energetic this morning, probably because of the lower BG. What kind of dose should I give tonight?

Hi Connie

Get well soon for your daughter :YMHUG:
Remember to take care of yourself too

Let's see where Puff goes by +11, if your around, see what it is.

Good for Domino with his nice cycle last nite!
That's about 24 cycles on 1.75u, hopefully you'll get some input by this evening's PM time.

I would say you have your hands full, a daughter recovering from surgery and two green surfs!

Domino - if you want to be aggressive, you can increase his dose to 2 units. I would do it when you can be around to monitor the first cycle or two. He has gotten green on 1.75 but there's room to bring his whole range down just a little bit.

Puff - yay! Perfect! I would hold the 4 unit dose for now, it's just what he needed. If he drops below 50 then we'll have to consider reducing, but for right now this is perfect.
