Yesterday I syringe fed Reuben Friskies T/G every half hour or so, after he threw up repeatedly the night before and was in a major melt-down. Started the bupe again, and suspended clavamox, as it is a suspected contributor to the gastric distress.
He was feeling better enough to want to eat the food off of the outside of the syringe by late in the day (like licking the beater???  ) and by nighttime he was eating whiskas packet food (sans gravy, I squeeze it out) on his own but only if I was holding the bowl. At this point he eats on his own, but not quite enough so I am bowl-holding sometimes, and will syringe on-and-off today to supplement.
Last night he was sleeping so soundly that I didn`t want to wake him up to test, so just stayed awake watching him for a few hours to make sure he was okay.
He has not thrown up again since that episode and we are in recovery-mode, but waiting to see what effect removing the clavamox may have in the longer run...
Purry, lovey, sometimes, distant, still deeply attached to the credenza but now lets me hold him for love-fests sometimes.
Ongoing Medications:
Clavamox 50mg bid (last dose given +4/ of 10-18. pm cycle,,, suspsected partial cause of vomiting)
Ondansetron 5mg bid began 10/15 1 hour before pre shot with pepcid
Pepcid 2.5mg bid
