Ahh! I do not like her +3 number. ): I still can't figure out what in the world is going on....

And I was going to ask about getting those tests done, but it looks like I'll probably be in the vets office very soon again for Christmas. That, and I KNOW I don't have the money anymore. ): They had to do a full blood-workup on Christmas, and I needed to get some hairball medicine because she's apparently full of that. The vet is also thinking she might have something wrong with her thyroid. Any info on what I should be expecting just in case?

I don't think I know anything more than you said Christmas wasn't gaining weight. If the vet is thinking thyroid, it's possible that Christmas is hyperthyroid. Basically, it means her metabolism is sped up due to there being too much thyroid hormone. The vet will run a thyroid panel that will measure T4 and free T4 to make the diagnosis. Treatment involves either medication to control the excess levels or a permanent treatment is radioactive iodine. This is information on hyperthyroid.

As far as Tip, you can wait on the tests. The advantage of knowing if Tip has a high dose condition is that you can be more aggressive. For now, just keep doing what you're doing.

Ah, thanks for the link. Yeah, she wasn't gaining weight, slowly losing it, and even when I upped her food she wasn't gaining any, plus it seemed like the more she ate, she'd just get hyper and burn it all off anyways. I should've asked what all tests the vet was going to run....from what it sounded like though, it was for a lot of stuff.

Adit: I also forgot, she's been drinking a little extra, but not too much. Also, no loss in appetite.

Alright, I'm hoping that'll be before the end of the month, but we'll see, depends on what all comes up.
