Re: 9/30 Bailey AMPS 266 Hypo Question
Our kitty went severe hypo a little while back. As in, had to rush him to ER kind of hypo. He seemed absolutely fine the next day after his visit to emergency. In fact, about 20 min after we got him to ER we were able to visit with him, as he was alert and walking. Of course, he was groggy at that point and seemed somewhat dazed. The next few days he was sensitive to the insulin, but as far as behavior he was the same ol' guy he was before. Not quite as perky as he is today because his FD wasn't yet under control, but it didn't seem to phase him much. Pretty amazing if you ask me!
Hypo can cause brain damage, but I'm not sure how that happens. Probably if they aren't treated quickly enough I would guess.
