Good morning LL!

Blue barely today, but I'll take it! Tarragon kept me company all night since DH is gone. He's such a thoughtful boy. There was some nanner and cube play in the night from the look of the living room this morning. :-D

The fires are still popping up. I heard this morning that there are 18 active fires in the state as of now. Poor people who have lost everything. The worst was about 15 miles west of us in Mannford, OK and burned over 70,000 acres. Some of the fires are under control but still burning while they are still trying to get control on others. The news was showing dogs and cats that have been found and trying to locate the owners last night, not to mention all the horses and livestock that have either perished or are wandering. It is heartbreaking. A little cooler today with a high of 107. It was 77 this morning which felt wonderful. There is a 30% chance of rain tomorrow but it doesn't sound like it will be enough.

Have a great Tuesday!

Good Morning Melissa

Awww how nice of Tarragon, to sleep with mama, while the daddybean is gone. Boy, he really sneak in under the blue wire, this morning. Yay. :-D

Melissa, it's too awful to think of the defenseless animals during these fires. Worse yet, because they were deliberately set.
I'm so glad you are safe.
So 107 is considered 'cooler' ? Omigosh, anything over 75 is a heat wave for me.

Enjoy your day

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

So sorry for all the life lost in the fire. These people should be condamed for setting fire. We are here to contribute to the world, not damage or bring disaster to it.
Glad that you & family is safe Melissa.
Thankyou for visiting Rosy's condo & sending your support. It is much appreciated.

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Morning Melissa, I have not yet listened to the national news, but last night it looks so devastating. There's no break in your temps either. Are your summers normally that hot. I know I've heard it's been the hottest summer ever! I lfeel so sad, too, for all the defenseless pets lost and hurt. Sending lots of vines for rain and help for the firemen and all those families that lost theor homes. Does DH come home tomorrow?
Tarragon and Maggie are about the same AMPS.

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Ann - DH gets in tonight at midnight, so yay! But ugh on having to go get him at the airport at that hour. I will need lots of ~O) ~O) ~O) tomorrow. As far as our weather: We usually have about 10 days over 100. This will make the 21st day straight over 100 this year and it will make the 30th for the summer. Definitely the hottest on record ever. We also had only ever had a high of 113 and we have had everything from 115 - 118. Our highest low ever was 87 before and we have had a number of mornings where is was 90 - 92. I would say we have blown all records out of the water this summer. Last summer was pretty brutal as well, but nothing like this. Those records were all set in 1936 during the "dust bowl". There have been 4 days this summer where Tulsa was the hottest spot on earth. Those are records I do not want to break anymore!

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Yikes with the temperatures and breaking the record. A/C is a necessity there with all of you. I sure won't complain about our 80's and humidity here after hearing of your summer. Oh my, with DH coming in at midnight and the pick up. Michelle will have lots of coffee ready for you tomorrow morning. :-D

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Morning Melissa - YAY! Another blue amps for Tarragon. How nice is that! I love the blue ones....

oh wow on your weather. I've just read all you wrote about the high temps, record breaking days, and cannot help but think how hard it must be on a day to day basis with temps like that. One simply does not think of Tulsa being the hottest place on earth.... And the fires... It is heartbreaking. I feel for all those that have been so adversely affected. It is good to read on pending rains... hope it comes to be, and gives you all some relief.

Good to read that DH comes home today, bummer on the hour! I will have lots of ~O) brewing in Mannie's condo tomorrow. I hope he has a safe trip home.

Enjoy your day today!

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Yikes on those records - I love heat, but I think that's pushing it, even for me!

Nice way to keep it in the blues, T!!!

We'll send lots of ~O) ~O) ~O) your way first thing tomorrow, but at least DH will be home. Have a great day!!

Re: 8/7 Tarragon AMPS 199

Hi guys .. how sweet of tarragon to keep you company while DH is away .. such a thoughtful boy! It's so sad to think of someone deliberately setting those fires ... so sad to think of those who have lost everything, and defenseless animals out there not understanding any of it .. poor babies ... I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and ask that this heat wave stop soon and that you get the rain you so need to help the firefighters ...
