Out most of day with DS and DGN and dog. Lots of fun to see baby, and the dog…

So this AMPS was a bit of a disappointment, I was looking for that 7 days of green, so we could have started the OTJ trial, but I guess Daphne just isn't ready. I don't want to rush her, I think realistically, I see her green numbers are a bit higher then other OTJ kitties, so I think we have a little while to go yet. It's ok, she finally brought down the AMPS, so happy about that, and I'm still very proud of my little girl, being 17 years old, and doing as well as she is. cat_pet_icon

Sending healing vines to all the kitties and beans who may need them today.

That 101 is SO close...it's almost as green as you can get, without actually being green. Daphne is doing fabulously...overall, those PSs are looking wonderful.

Have a relaxing evening!!

Thanks Amy, I know, she is doing so much better then I could ever expect. I hope no one thinks I'm not appreciative for her progress. I just have a hard time because of my illness, and if she is off the insulin, I may be able to take care of my health issues a little more. But, really, she is such a good, and easy kitty... has been since the beginning. I wish all the kitties could have just green and blue all the time. I know they all have their own time and will hopefully all be off the insulin someday, I pray.

101 is still normal range for a cat (50-120). Maybe you could ask Sienne for her input? Paws crossed here. :-D

This is a beautiful cycle & a Normal BG number! She maybe close, so try to put on those patience pants just a little longer, and things may turn out well for you & Daphne!! You are so so close--this is wonderful!!
Know how you feel, I have been aching all day! But just hang in there-you are doing an amazing job--Hugs & Big Love from us!!

Wow, look at all those 101s. Sometimes, I think my meter is stuck and want to give it a little slap on the side in case it is stuck in place  Maybe, you should play the pick 3 lotto with those numbers (I don't know if they do 101  )
She'll get there. I'm not saying she's not ready for a trial, I just walked in the door from work, and just saw your post.
I'm glad you enjoyed your day out

Re: 7/3 Daphne AMPS 101, + 10 101, PMPS 101

Who said that everything had to be completely green? The idea is mostly green and within a normal BG range. In other words, if those blues are under 120, they are in the normal BG range. I don't think this is "proof" that Daphne is out of the running by any means. If the numbers start to trend upwards, that's a different issue.

What I would suggest is that you deal with the blue numbers exactly the way you would deal with them if Daphne were in an OTJ trial. If you see a blue number, give her a small amount of food. Test in 2 - 3 hours to see if her pancreas kicked in by producing endogenous insulin and brings the numbers down. Is she still getting a snack at +9? If not, I'd try to make sure that it's feasible.

Re: 7/3 Daphne AMPS 101, + 10 101, PMPS 101

Thanks Anne, I guess what I meant to say was, according to protocal, we aren't supposed to reduce until (for new dx kitties), they drop below 50 or have 7 days of green), thats what I thought we were going to have, we were almost there, just two more days, oh well, its ok, Daphne is driving this train.

Roni, so sorry for the aching all day… I guess its the humidity that we are going to get tomorrow.

Dyana, so funny, I forgot to mention the 101 for 3 test! I actually took another one right after the last 101, and I got a 110, but don't tell any one, we get to pick the one we won't, right?

Sorry Sienne, just missed you there.

I just meant for the 7 day dose decrease and in my case OTJ trial right? As for the normal numbers, yes I know… but don't forget she is still on one drop, so….

What I would suggest is that you deal with the blue numbers exactly the way you would deal with them if Daphne were in an OTJ trial. If you see a blue number, give her a small amount of food. Yes, I'm still giving the +9 snack and also, I am giving her more mini meals, "small amounts of food", also doing that…

Thanks Sienne for the clarification and reassurance, I wasn't sure if we were on the same page, like I was thinking we were close to the OTJ trial, but was so afraid to jinx it, I never said it till now.

Re: 7/3 Daphne AMPS 101, + 10 101, PMPS 101

Yes, beautiful cycle today for Daphne! That 101 is what I would call a green. I'm glad you had a nice day with family, Barb.

Awwww you guys are so sweet! Thanks for visiting tonight!

I just found out I'm giving DH a break tomorrow, and I'm doing the 5:30 AMPS! :o Well, thats what I get for offering. Oh well, I can still do the btb. It's going to be way too hot tomorrow to do anything anyway… sleep in AC sounds good to me.

Sorry, I missed lots of visits tonight… long day. I'll catch up tomorrow, after a few btbs.
