436 PMPS (drop of R)
381 +2
310 +6.5

J.D. does seem to be feeling a lot better. He is walking much better and has more energy. When he goes to the water fountain (which isn't as often) he takes a few licks and walks away.
Now, to figure out his BGs. I almost went up to a F0.50 this morning. But, decided at the last minute to wait until tonight.

Our Walk Was Not Good: I know I've said this on multiple occasions, but it's now finalized. Ginger has to be on a leash, for awhile. J.D. happily followed me outside, and then stopped, so I went back in the house and got some steak. That got him going, and we were about half way through out walk, when I see Ginger jump into the middle of the wooded strip and her belly is down and her tail is awagging, and I know this is no ordinary pretent-to-be-the-huntress position.
I yell "No Ginger" and rush to her. I keep yelling "No, Ginger", but she does not seem to hear me. I see her run a few feet forward into the bushes and then leap up a couple feet into the shrubs, grab something, and then she's on the ground, and I somehow got through all the shrubbery and trees to where she is, on the other side of the wooded area. She has a baby bird. She drops it on command, and it's on it's back. Then I notice all the parent birds making a ruckus along with me and dive bombing us. I flipped the baby over and it instantly flipped itself back to being on hit's back with it's little feet upwards and little wings spread out and flat on the ground. I grabbed Ginger, and we walked away. Then J.D. doesn't know where we are, so I'm holding Ginger and I see him going through the same wooded section looking for us. I keep calling him to get his attention, as I know he would kill that bird if he saw it. Luckily, he did not. Ginger was carried the rest of the walk, wimpering and shaking a little. I'm sorry, Ginger.

We came home, and CPC happened at AMPS. J.D. just got his meds. I really don't know what to do about his BGs.
I have tomorrow off of work, and Sunday he goes to work with me. I can increase him again, and see of I can get him into the blues.

I hope everyone has a Good Friday. I hope J.D. decides he's done with these reds.

Re: 06/15 J.D. AMPS 436

Sounds like you've had an exciting morning. Poor baby bird:( Maybe..just maybe..with the power of healing vines and love from it's family, it will recover:)

JD, I'm glad your feeling better but it's time to come down from that floor or your bean said that you'll get a dosecrease..you hear that?!
Maybe if you listen you might get more steak....mmmmmm steak!

Re: 06/15 J.D. AMPS 436

We actually cut our walk a little short after all the excitement (and probably waking up the neighbors  ) and I went back to the attack site and the bird was gone, so hopefully it will survive. She has caught two babies in the past (that I know of) and both were able to fly off.
Time for 2nd Breffis to be served.

Hi guys .. Awww .. poor baby bird .. poor ginger! Poor mommabean! I hope everyone is calmed down at your house now .. and that J.D.'s numbers come down for you .. these high numbers are no place for him to be .. have a great weekend guys!

Re: 06/15 J.D. AMPS 436

JD, red, really? Come on down big guy. Good luck with the dosing. It is frustrating. ((((Dyana))))

Oh no on the walk. I'm so sorry. That sounds traumatic for all of you so early. Ginger was just being a hunter. You can never quite take that out of them. Hope you have a wonderful day Dyana!

Re: 06/15 J.D. AMPS 436

What an exciting start to your morning. Amazing how those kitty instincts can kick in.

Hope the rest of your day is less eventful (and that J.D.'s numbers come down!)

Re: 06/15 J.D. PMPS 399

I don't know if I should have done this, but it's done. I gave J.D. a dose of 0.75 and gave him zero line of R.
He seems to be feelng good. I did see him at the water fountain for bit when I got home at PMPS, though.

The kittys are outside (Ginger's tied to the porch with a leash and J.D. is laying on the porch). I'll go check on them.

Re: 06/15 J.D. PMPS 399

Hoping your concoction works to bring the handsome guy down. Yay for Fridays!

Re: 06/15 J.D. PMPS 399

Oh my Dyana, you sure had one heck of a day. Poor Ginger, I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt the baby bird, well, yes, she wanted to eat it, but I don't think she knew she was hurting anything  Its just all instinct, and we may never be able to change that. Glad the baby bird may possibly be ok, nice of you to go back and check.

Now J.D. please come down from there! Your mom bean is not very happy with these numbers and a dosecreas will happen, you know.

I know I felt guilty all day about poor Ginger  . She didn't know she was doing anything wrong.
I have a baby (a few months old) squirrel friend that she does pretty good with. He often follows us on our walks. He'll come right up to the toes of my shoes for me to drop a peanut, or within 1 1/2 inches of my fingers (I don't try to feed him from my hand).

J.D., I guess what I'm doing is an example of what not to do. He seemed a little off after I got home, and after I shot all that insulin, he only ate half of his 1/4 can of LC FF. At +2 (since he came down 128 points in an hour), I gave him and he ate most of 1/4 can MC (LC mixed with HC). At +2.5 (when he had dropped another 58 points in 30 minutes), I gave him 1/4 can HC and he ate the whole thing.
I'm just so frustrated. The F0.50 gets him into the 30s and a slightly lesser dose of f0.50 and he's been staying in the reds (for all I know). Although, he did go from 407 AMPS to 65 all by himself the other day. Maybe, I'll just call this loaded dose, and go back to the good old F0.50 in the morning. Strong coffee is abrewing.
