Gracie is doing great this morning with her sweet little headbutts and purrs.

She is such a funny little girl....she was on the catio on the top level of her condo watching birds and I took her some breffis. Well, obviously I am such a stoopid bean because she can't eat and watch the birds, too!! So I put some food on my finger and held it up to her but about 1/2" from her mouth. Eyes don't move, head doesn't move...totally focused on birds. Little pink tongue comes flicking out and it's not even close to my finger but she must think it is because she is licking away but still sooooo focused on those birds .

Ok...so her stinkeye photo was on the condo yesterday and MJ said we should submit it to the Cat Fancy expressions contest but I caught this photo yesterday and it is funny. And because she is so adorable, I am putting another one up that Mike took last week just cuz it is so gorgeous!!

Thanks, your Gracie is adorable.
I see what you mean about her numbers being low. Would that mean that she is regulated now?
I finally am able to take some time to read other posts and go to other condos besides mine! :-D

Yes...she is regulated :-D But don't tell her I said so or she'll just throw me a wacky number just to prove me wrong :lol: :lol:

Awww! She is such a cute kitty - at least in the second photo. And her numbers are looking pretty cute today too.

Oh my gosh, both pics are so adorable; :-D Gracie is very photogenic. So which pic will you be sending? The "StinkEye is my favorite. Nice, nice numbers for Gracie today. The extra drop really makes a difference. Have a nice day, Marje.

That picture could be on LOLcats. She looks like a completely different cat. I haven't popped on in a while - I normally just skim the headlines. Gracie is doing amazing and that last picture is absolutely precious!

Nice numbers today, too. And such powers of concentration!

Looks like you all are enjoying a fine day. I have to make another batch of cimmamum cookies for the Memorial Day picnic, Tobey, so be sure to come over to help on Sunday, OK?

Marje, you are so right about MJ lot 136133. I started my first box of that lot today and couldn't believe the discrepancies in the way the base of the needle goes down into the cone (mainly it doesn't go down into the bottom of the cone). Out of 200 syringes, I found only 10 that are satisfactory (base of the needle at the zero line). I'm calling Monoject tomorrow to complain!

Interesting on the syringes. I have the same lot and am having much less problem than w/ the last. My problem w/ the last lot was insulin going behind the plunger so Tess wouldn't get her full shot. Only one or two in this lot.

When you are microdosing, at least, it is easier to count out the drops in .5u, then draw it again and subtract the number you need from the total. Then count out what you don't need. I don't really worry about the accuracy of the syringe itself. It does waste insulin though and probably wouldn't be practical for larger doses.

Do you remember who it was that was using a reusable glass syringe w/ disposable needles? I think it was last spring or summer. It was a couple and their cat went OTJ. I've been wracking my brain trying to remember. That may be the way to go.

Or if MJ ever did produce the syring marked in .1 units! Dream on! :roll:

No kidding, Ann, on GREEN RULES and our two girls!

I'm using the calipers now so I can dial in a more accurate dose and I don't even look at the unit markings any more. I've tried to do the dose drop like you do but my drops when they come off the bevel are not always the same size :shock:

Of course I would not tell them the syringes are being used by a cat! When you measure with the calipers, how do you compensate if the base of the needle isn't at the zero line?

We have lot 136133 & had about 1 out 3 that was decent. Now we have a box from lot 201031, and it is worse. I went through 12 syringes yesterday to find a good one. Lot 136133 came from ADW and 201031 from Hock's. I had thought perhaps ADW was getting a lesser quality and that was why we got better prices, but I must have been hallucinating. What's a mambean to do? I sent a heap of syringes back to ADW, but was told I was past the time to return, so I got no satisfaction, if you know what I mean! We are still waiting on the calipers and the engineer will get on the precision measuring! :-D

Oh, I'm so glad I didn't miss this post. Gracie is so adorable, I want to just pick her up and hug her in that second picture. I had a pic of my maine coon like that with their big paws, just hanging over the chair, so, so adorable.

Oh and nice numbers too miss Gracie.
 
Marje, I am so glad you posted that photo of Gracie! I needed a laughing kitty and there was Gracie just in the nick of time. Thanks! :lol: :lol: :lol:
