Quick update, SS's are NOT up-to-date:
Tawny is doing good and nothing to report. She is eating and running around the house and talking to me and spends a lot of time lying on my keyboard when I'm trying to type. Such a good little Mommie's helper she is!
Tinkerbell had a bit of an adventure yesterday when Mommie had to go to an appt, I mean I HAD to go. So just as I'm walking out the door, already late as usual, I do a spot check on Tink & Tawny. Tinkerbell decides to be green. As in 85 I think it was (the ppr w/the #s on it is upstairs). At +4. So i fed her, stalled another 15 minutes, and tested her again. 87. Lovely. Not high enough for me to leave her comfortably for what would be at least 4 hrs. Fed some more, 15 more min's, tested again, back down to 85.
What was it Dyana said over in J.D.'s condo? Why can't they do this on a day off (or more convenient time)?
So I loaded her up and took her w/me. Meter, strips, karo, HC, LC, water, cat (forgot the litter). My appt was coincidentally only a block and a half from LVRC, the clinic who took such good care of Tawny when she was so ill a few months ago, so I figured well, at least if there's a problem, we'll be right there.
So off we go, every 15 min's I'm pulling off the highway and testing Tink's BGs. She had a beautiful little green surf going on for a little while, but then...
Suffice it to say that Tinkerbell does not travel well.
When we left she was 85. When we got home, 3, maybe 4 hrs later, she was 556. OUCH! No ketones tho, believe me, I checked, pee and blood both.
& the Mommie update: I did not get fired on my 2nd day at the job today! Or chewed out, or told I wasn't doing it right. I'm training myself, but it must be working. Guess I'm back where I belong, doing what I do best, doing what I know how to do. Working in a lawyer's office. I feel like I've come home. Click-Click-Click. Maybe I oughta go get me some ruby red shoes.
