Yesterday

A nice start this morning...no Full Moon Bounce, no funkiness from last night's accidentally late shot (Hubby forgot to shoot, so it ended up being 30 minutes late. I started shifting back to the "regular" time this morning.).

My OT question: Does anyone know the phosphorous value for Merrick's BG Chicken? I saw in Ann&Tess's SS that the turkey has a good value for cats with renal issues, but wasn't sure about the chicken. I'm looking for more options for Mario, who has borderline high phosphorous levels (off the top of my head, I can't remember if it was 4.1 or 4.9), although currently the rest of his kidney values are smack dab in the middle of normal. He likes a lot of variety in his diet, and he really seems to enjoy Trix's BG Chicken...I'm hoping it's an OK fuds for him to eat.

Hi Amy, I checked on the Merrick BG chicken and was surprised to learn it had 1.73% phosphorus chicken. I had some excellent help from Linda and Bear Man in my condos a few days ago. Tanya's website has excellent info on Phosphorus and a food list. I'll go back and get the links for you. The Friskies Special Diet Turkey & giblets is a good choice for low phosphorus, but it has five carbs if Trixie is carb sensitive as is Maggie.

Bummer about the Merrick's BG chicken! The phosphorous food link doesn't seem to be working today. I have checked it before, but it has been a while...at the time, I didn't remember seeing the BG foods on there. This food would actually be for Mario, not Trixie, so I don't have to worry as much about carbs (although, of course, I don't want him to have a crazy amount of carbs.)

I'll go back and read your condo again, Maggie. That's what led me to Ann&Tess's SS having some of the low phos foods on it...

Hi Amy, that's right as you did say it was Mario! Did the food link work okay for you? I added a P.S. to my first post. There are many more choices there for Mario since he's not watching his carbs, lucky kitty with that aspect. Mags is 4.9 with her phosphorus levels, so it sounds like Mario and Mags can be twins. :lol: They would be in Stage Two and early enough to get help in lowering it.

The link wasn't working today, but I'm pretty sure I have that page saved in my favorites. Yes, he does have more options, fortunately! However, he's been so finicky lately that I've been sneaking him almost anything he wants to eat. He's never been a CPC kitty to begin with, and he's a cat who requires variety. Where are all those hoover cats who will eat anything, 'cause they certainly aren't living with ME :lol: !!!

No idea on the food. We are FF classic and flaked and only that. Tarragon is too picky.

OOOoo...you noticed! Not a very exciting profile, but - as I mentioned - I is tuckered. Maybe some day I'll pretty it up...
