I guess we've got a small Trixie bounce here this morning...not much of one, I know, but still a bit high for what she's been running lately.

Can I just say how sweet kitties are? In general, our master bedroom is the only kitty-free zone in the house - mainly because they outnumber us so greatly and we know it would be virtually impossible to sleep if they were in there with us since they're a pretty feisty crowd. However, we do often take them in on a one-on-one basis for playing, scritching, and hanging out during the day. Mario hadn't shown much interest in going into the bedroom in a long time, though...until recently. He has suddenly become obsessed with it! Last night, we had the greatest play session ever...he was chasing a belt from an old sweater, carrying it off, diving into a paper bag full of old socks...having a grand time in general. Then, it was time for everyone to turn in. In the middle of the night, though, Mario wanted to come back and play some more. I think he was channeling Maggie :lol: ...he was meowing SOOO loud outside the door! I got up, gave him a few scritches, and told him we'd play in the bedroom in the morning. When I got up for the kitty routine this morning, there was a big fuzzy mouse right in front of the bedroom door. How sweet is that - Mario's bringing his offerings to us!

Hi Amy, that is so funny as it sounds exactly like Maggie! :lol: They would make a cute couple and the mouse outside the bedroom door. Next time it will be on your bed next to your face. :lol:
I hope Trixie breaks her bounce, although it's not a bad bounce at all. I bet she comes down to greens in no time. Have a nice day.

Although a little high for Trixie, I bet she'll be green in no time. She knows her color!

DH and Mason always say that a house isn't a home without kitties. I think they are right. How sweet with Mario. He just wanted to play. Congratulations on successfully quarantining your bedroom. We tried that when we got Turnup (our very first animal) and it lasted for one night. :lol:

I agree...I cannot imagine a home without kitties.

When we just had Mario and Mr Kitty, they were allowed in the bedroom - although Mr K used to bite me (and only me; never hubby) in the middle of the night when he was hungry! When Mario was very briefly an only cat after Mr K passed and before we adopted the herd, Hubby and I went out of town for one night; Mario was so happy when we returned that he brought every toy he owns to us during the night that night. It was absurdly adorable!

However, we we adopted 4 kittens in one fell swoop (Noah, Petey, and Zen are litter mates; Frankie is from a different litter but was born just a few weeks later), we were afraid we'd squash them during the night, so we didn't let them in the bedroom. Soon, we learned what a handful they were - Petey chews on wires, Noah hides it tight quarters, Frankie plays with anything and everything in sight...so, even when they got bigger, we decided we'd never get an ounce of sleep with them in there with us. Plus, it's the only room in the house that we can plug lamps in without having a heavy duty cord protector to prevent Petey from electrocuting himself!

Mario is beckoning...I promised him a play session when he woke me during the night, and I'd better make good on that promise!

My kitties would not know what to do with a closed door! Gizmo cries outside of the bathroom if I shut the door. He also festoons the bed with toys. He drags things all over the house but loves to bring a toy to bed.

Trixie is looking good in green.

Checking in a little late but wanted to say hi and great numbers for Trixie today! Loved your post about all your kitties and the whole master bedroom thing. And what a wonderful gift Mario left for you outside your door this morning. He is trying to butter you up for you to let him in the bedroom to play tonight.

Flat blueness tonight...

The day has slipped away, but I've gotta try and get a few condos in before calling it a night!

Even though my guys were "raised" with a closed bedroom door, they definitely make it known at times that they do not approve! We've toyed with the idea of giving them free reign in there, too, but figure if we ever really want to try it, we'll have to be on vacation because I'm sure much sleep will be lost for the beans!. They DO own the rest of the house, so life ain't too bad around here :lol: !
