I have not translated to US his BG (15.6 mmol) sorry... Typing from phn

Been syringe feeding Rocket since yesterday at 7 pm...have not had much sleep. Up every hr on the hr

We need your prayers

Don't know what is wrong with him this time

If need be I will take him to the ER today

He has now eaten from the spatula rather than me syringing him...baby steps... But I'm still weighing in on whether to take him in...dh is heading out soon to be with his family ( I was never going to go due to Rocket's med schedule).....

we are back after being at the ER 4 hrs...

he may have an infection of some sort....i can't remember...something to do with WBC...

he was dehydrated due to the fact he never got his subq in the afternoon....

we got sent home with BAYTRIL....and i need to book him in this week coming up for his vet to see him....to do follow up bloodwork...

i was upset as he normally starts to hiss but nothing...but then....he told the ER vet off...they took him to the back and i could hear him scream so much so that he peed on the vet....and then they managed to catch the pee before it hit the floor (free catch)....

long story short...we are home...he is pretty upset...i know the baytril will make him stop eating like the last time so i will keep at the syringe feeding....i have to sort out his med schedule so looks like the first dose of baytril will be in the wee hrs....

thank you for your prayers...today has been stressful and even over the phone family DOESN'T understand.....they tell me to pts him in a round about way....i say...NOT their money..Not their cat...NOT their business.....i've had little sleep...

he may not qualify to get the Adequan as the site where he got the injection (subq i gave him on Thursday) his skin is pretty darn red so was sent home with an oitment to apply every 8 hrs...it's a huge area...they shaved it so i can keep a close eye on it....

forgot to say...

seems the infection has been caught in time before it gets bad...temperature taken was in the high end of normal...

gave insulin 40 mins late and i managed to syringe feed him at the hospital....i took all his meds with me and prefilled syringes of food and one of water to pill him the phenobarbital...so hopefully tomorrow we will get back on track for his insulin time...

PMPS 151 considering he got the workout at the hospital...that's the hospital number...so i went with that i gave him the insulin...that said i only gave him 2 u....he was at 2.75 u but since his appy is not great i went with that....

I saw the picture of Rocket's adequan site on FB...I'm so sorry he reacted like that to it. Do the vets think today's visit is any connection to that?

Our prayers continue...and WE understand!

Claudia, It's not your fault, you've nothing to feel bad about. Rocket knows how much you love him and how much you are doing for him. And he loves you back. He is a very lucky kitty to have such a devoted bean.

Claudia you ae the Most Devoted Bean, and every one of us here, I am sure, would do the same things you do to help or furbabies!! Many of us have older kitties & the longer you have them the more you love them...
Rocket does know how much you love him, believe me he does!!

hi LL Family,
i've decided to keep yesterday's condo open as some of you have been kind enough to visit us this morning...

it was a rough night...he slept...i slept....he got up...i got up....he moved...i moved....i slept on the floor holding his paw and sometimes he would put his paw on my face as to sort of know i was still there with him....

Baytril is in place as of 1:30 am today.....and i had prepped a few syringes with food with no binder in anticipation of him not eating on his own....i was right...so i syringe fed him and gave him the med....and it was syringe feeding every hr on the hr....or at least keeping a close eye on him...

he is alert and the skin rash has come down some...i put the oitment as told so hopefully he will get better from that soon....though he is scratching where they shaved him...

thank you for your prayers...it has been one tough weekend and we are not out of it yet...will be calling his reg vet tomorrow (they're closed today) and see when they can see him...

off to feed him....

keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers....

will post pictures later....

i can't remember if the Baytril makes the BG go up or down?

You are such a great bean, there was no way to know he would have a reaction to the Adequan. If he is scratching there do you have a t-shirt to cover it?

I'm just getting caught up after having been away for the weekend. Rusty and I are sending lots and lots of healing vines to Rocket tonight and hoping that you can get his issues under control. I'm glad that the bad reaction to the Adequan is diminishing. We are continuing to send positive thoughts and many prayers that Rocket will be feeling better very soon. And that you, Claudia, will be able to get some much needed rest.

small update

things have been pretty rough today....been syringe feeding him and making sure he is ok...

i put on a shirt that was Comet's (but i washed it and it shrank) so it was pretty tight for Rocket and no use to Comet :(

i decided to take the shirt off as it was pretty tight on him...and it would be no use if i have to give him subq and the oitment on the affected area....so keeping an eye on him that he doesn't scratch it....fingers crossed

i take naps when he takes naps...good thing i have Tues and Wed off work...but sadly i have to be back Thurs and Fri...but i will make sure i come home for lunch to feed him and check on him

he looks pretty tired...the abs tend to do that to him...

tonight's subq was not a success....didn't finish as he had had enough...usually he is busy eating away at the chicken dust but since he has lost his appy no luck there....i know he needs a little more than usual so tomorrow a.m. i will make sure i keep him tight to ensure he gets his full subq dose...

the baytril is for 10 days...tomorrow morning i will cal his reg vet to see when she can see him either tomorrow or Wed...before i go back to work...

back to syringe feeding...thanks for stopping by and for the continued prayers...much appreciated....
