Re: 12/22 Mikey AMPS 196

+1 231 Mikey, that's the wrong direction. I cut the HC gravy again (not ready to go cold turkey, but weaning him off it), so that's a pretty big food spike. Back to blue, please, Mikey!

Re: 12/22 Mikey AMPS 196 +2 231

+2 251 Yuck...seems like every good curve we get, we have a bad one next time. I didn't think I got a good shot this morning (didn't get that last good squeeze on the way out, and there was a small drop that I was able to squeeze out afterward; usually don't get those), either, so between the two, looks like a not-so-good day. I think we'll cut any gravy completely tonight and see what we get, and ease up to .2U Monday if that doesn't help. I don't want to do an increase over the holiday weekend given Mikey's history of crazy dives.

+4 226. Not what I'd hoped for, but not as bad as yesterday...

PMPS 223

This morning was a flat cycle, hoping for better tonight; cut the HC at PS and fattened the .1U just a bit

Re: 12/22 Mikey PMPS 223 +1 233

+3 145 That's the way to do it, Mikey! Let's have just a little more tonight!

Re: 12/22 Mikey PMPS 223 +1 233 +3 145

+4 142. Tomorrow morning we'll eliminate the gravy completely and if that doesn't help, maybe fatten the dose just a bit, to like .15 or .2, and see what that does, since I'll be home all day to test if necessary!

Re: 12/22 Mikey PMPS 223 +1 233 +3 145 +4 142

+5 131, and it looks like nadir is around this time based on his chart. Not bad.

If you fattened the dose tonight, you need to wait 3 days before making a dose change -- unless Mikey drops low. I would also suggest not changing the dose if you are going to reduce the carbs.

That makes sense, though if I'm honest with myself, I didn't fatten it more than a fraction of a drop. I'll see what he does over the weekend...I don't think the 200's are terribly dangerous, correct? I'm afraid to increase too much because of both the drops and those high flats, aren't those a mini-bounce?

less than 250ish is generally fine - the trick here is that we generally don't have much of a choice about what we get! cats do what they do. i suspect all of us would like our cats under 200 all of the time, but cats are notoriously difficult to regulate (compared to dogs and people) and you have to work with what you've got.

it's safer for a cat to be hours/days in higher numbers than a minute too low. you're doing a good job of trying to flatten out his dives - it's all you can do. i think sienne's point about staying with the new dose to see how it does is right on. you don't want to tinker with too many variables at once.
