Good Morning LL. DH here. Sending positive thoughts to all who need them, especially Garland this morning.

So the bounce continues. Now I see why Marje gets more frustrated with numbers than I usually do. I find that when I'm the one giving the shots, and she doesn't respond well, I start second guessing myself. Was the dose right? Did the shot get in right? Etc. I keep telling myself she has been doing this good cycle/bad cycle thing for a few days, so hopefully she will come down to some healing numbers today. Marje gets back Sunday and if Gracie isn't doing better we will look at raising her.

Despite the numbers Gracie is her usual happy self, all P's in place and eating well. She and Tobey are wrestling/whack-a-mole-ing under the Xmas tree. We ought to leave it up all year, they enjoy it so much.

After I poked Gracies ear this morning I put the lancet in my mouth like always to reach for the test strip machine. Unfortunately I put it in needle end first. Amazing how much blood will come out of a tiny little hole in your lip. The good news is my BG was fine. :lol:

Mouthing the lancet sounds dangerous! At least it's your lip bleeding, not your esophagus!

DH here - down a little at +3. That is usually a good sign. I put the lancet in my mouth because Tobey is usually in close attendance during Gracies tests. I'd rather bleed than him. May have to rethink the whole deal.

Come on down Gracie the others have gotten the message that you need to wear "cool" colors for a Cold Full Moon Party. We like seeing numbers coming down at +2 too. Makes for an interesting day! :lol:

As a place to "park" the lancet for a minute (and to park that little cap for the lancet), I usually use the pocket inside my BG monitor's case. So far, no curious kitties have gone nosing there. Does your case have a pocket? Maybe you could even stick the needle end into the fabric (or, better, a piece of miscellaneous fabric designated for the purpose and kept in the pocket).

Sorry about the accidental lip-stick! But glad to hear of happy kitties.

I have the same lancet problem, Bailey or Maddie always makes a grab for it thinking it might be a treat. :roll: I have been stabbing it into the arm of the couch until I can throw it away. Glad your BG is good Mike :lol:

Ouch on the lancet stick. I always use a pen but I poke both of us with that thing and have never hit my lip. That has to hurt. Mike, I am sure you are doing everything just right and that this is just how Gracie rolls. When you hit the fur, you will feel it and i think you know how that feels as well. I am always concerned about that and I always rub the area around where I shot to make sure it is dry. I'm gonna guess that is pretty common bean activity.

Send my best to Marje. I hope things are falling into place and that she is not too stressed by it all. Dealing with these family issues are always a challenge. Sending loving thoughts to her at this time and prayers for her mom's well being.

Ouch! On your lip and Gracie's numbers. Come on down, Gracie, no need to be up there. When Anne was gone for 10 days to Germany in September, I was bean-in-charge for the first time. It just about killed me, although Zener seemed to do just fine. :lol: Like you, it gave me a whole new appreciation for what Anne had been doing and it was good for Anne to get a break. You're doing great!

Mike, I share your frustration on numbers that are bouncing around. I always am second guessing myself...did I actually gave Simon a shot or was it a fur shot, not enough insulin, etc., etc. It is just hard when the numbers don't gel with what we are expecting. Imagine that!

I'm sorry you stuck yourself today. That had to hurt but I bet you don't let that happen again.

Tell Marje I'm thinking of her and hope things are going well with her DM.

DH here - what a crap day. I just hope it isn't something I'm doing that is keeping her so high. I gave Gracie her shots for several days before Marje left and everything went ok. So maybe it is just a hard bounce, or she is stressed by Marje being gone. If so, she doesn't show it. Time to come down baby girl.

Hi Mike- I know it's easier suggested than done- but don't beat yourself up. These are just one day of numbers among many and as long as Graceie is happy, then you're doing perfect. Have a good night!

Hi guys... guess Gracie just wants to take a break. either that or she's been hanging out with Mannie too long - he loves those breaks. Hope she come down soon for you. If she's well and happy, all is good.

Thanks all for checking in with encouraging words. We've been at this too long to get down over a bounce. I think its just doing it by myself the first time. So, pity party over. Gracie is chirping and happy and beating the crap out of her brother, so all is well.

Send them over to the Full Cold Moon party right away. Nothing like a little cold air to lower the bgs!! Hi Mike, sorry you managed to stick yourself with the lancet (I use a lancet device and so don't have that danger to think about!!). Gracie will be fine and will come down nicely from her bounce. You'll see.

Please say hi to Marje when you talk to her. We hope all is well there.
