Happy Sunday Afternoon!! Where did my morning go? Oh yes....BTB!!!! :lol:

Gracie got back to business last night....either the bounce cleared or I got her dose right. Still think those high numbers were due to dosing error but....at any rate, she's had a nice evening cycle and also started a lovely cycle today. I still have a little trepidation about her falling almost 40 mg/dl in 1.5 hours at the end of her cycle and so I bumped her up a bit for PS because I think when she drops like that, she continues to drop after her shot instead of coming up. Today I got it right and she got a little lev bump and then came back down for a nice cycle so far. I don't mind shooting 50s as long as I know she will do what she is supposed to on lev and come up instead of go down into the 40s. Cheeky girl!!
Any thoughts about getting BOS are appreciated :lol: The advantage to bumping her up a bit for PS when she has fallen so much is that I don't have to carb her up with karo and 10% after her shot so her next shot can onset.

What a grand cuddle we had all night, though and when I got up to test her, I'd just keep her cuddled under my chin, put her down to test, and then take her right back to bed and she cuddled in until the next poke time. What a sweet little darling she is. Of course Tobes was saying "WHAT??? You're getting up AGAIN? Can't you two just lay still???" :lol:

It is gorgeous here and we have patio door and windows open. Glorious weather on the desert today!

Gracie is looking good and last night was definitely some good cuddling weather. We slept with the window open and the covers on.

Marje you ought to video your cuddle-poke technique. Sounds so sweet. Might help the newbie when learning to do the hokey-pokey for the first time.

Your little G is looking mighty fine.

hope you have a good evening and you don't encounter what Rocket did to me yesterday.....so Gracie...you behave young lady! no diving no moonlighting no pajama parties none of that!!!

I've really missed you and Gracie!!! Looks like she kept you busy last night!!! She's doing a super job. Champ is on a seesaw of ups and downs, poor duders!! I hope Gracie stays with these beautiful numbers, but high enough to allow you to sleep!!

When I made the cat food, I did a 50/50 mix of breast meat and thighs. I read Dr. Lisa's page again on making food and she only uses 20% breast meat, saying cats need the fat from the thigh meat. She also adds the skin from most of the chicken too, but I'm not sure if she does this because she doesn't use a premix or if that matters.

Hi Marje,
To me it sounds like you did just the right thing to bump Gracie up before PS. It has been a beautiful cycle so far today. Lots of work for you (and Gracie), but it all helps to figure things out.
Rusty is looking forward to seeing Gracie and Tobey tomorrow night. He's never seen a lemur. I wish that Edward and I would be there to evesdrop on the party at Camp Stu, but we're going to a beans' party. The kitties will have everything under control.

we don't toss around ECID and "know thy cat" for nothing around here. every cat IS truly different and learning how "your" cat responds is so important.

gracie always has been rather unique in some of her responses. you and mike have learned her responses and how to handle them. what i'm trying to say is don't be too concerned about what is "supposed to" happen. instead, focus on what does happen and how to best handle gracie.

imho, you've found a method that works for gracie. stick with it. don't worry about what works for other kitties. :-D

OMG....what a great day for Gracie with very little food mgmt....only around +6/+7 where she usually dips down and she did nip 47 but came right up into a beautiful surf with 8%.

Boy could I have been lazier today? I don't think so!!

Celi: I kept up with her to AMPS but then Mike has mostly managed her curve today. He's very good with it.

Rosalie: We also have the doors open...and we've been sleeping with the doors and windows in our room open at night...wonderful.

Tena: so great to see you!!!! Yes on the video except (1) middle of the night and (2) jammies :lol: :lol: :lol:

Ella: I never know how that bump is gonna work...sometimes she has a cycle like today, sometimes she races up, sometimes she still falls. We were lucky today. Hope Tobey doesn't scare Rusty!! You did a great job with Rusty today!

Jill: Thank you for your most valued thoughts on this. We will "stay the course". Yes....Gracie is unique!!! Maybe we should stop telling her and maybe she'll start to have recognizable lev cycles!!! :lol: :lol:

DH on the graveyard shift again. I guess the 56 at 3.5 was a wonky number. The first time I tested I got a 77 but the strip filled funny. So I tested her with the backup meter and got a 56, had a little blood left so drew again with the primary and got a 55. So.... I gave her some 8%. Maybe that popped her up. Just rambling here. Trying to stay awake. Anybody interested in a game of monopoly?. Twister?
