Happy Caturday!!
ick ick ick....I can't believe those numbers last night and today. GRACIE!! I will take the blame because I think I accidentally skinnied her dose last night. The first three syringes were goofy with the unit markings very light so I didn't use them. The fourth syringe, the "0" line looked like it might have been a hair off but I couldn't tell for sure. When I do her dose, I use three ways to be consistent: drop # and size, position of the plunger in relation to the marked unit on the syringe, and distance between the plunger and the next unit "down" to make sure it's the same amount of insulin. I redrew it 4 times last night but it still seemed as though the space between my plunger and the 1u line was more narrow than usual even tho the drops and the plunger on the 1.5u line seemed correct. I just think the markings on that syringe must have been off and I gave her less insulin. I thought perhaps it was just that my eyes were tired and I just wasn't seeing it clearly even with the magnifyer but after that +5, I was beginning to think I gave her too little juice. So now..refill that shed girl and get going again!!!
I don't know why (maybe because it's more viscous) but I have a more difficult time drawing lev than lantus. I guess if these numbers keep up, I might change pens although it's only been 28 days BUT last weekend with the frig so full when the boys were here, I noticed the thermometer in with the pens registered 48 degrees instead of the normal 40 so I'm hoping the insulin did not get too warm for too long of a time. I wouldn't think so since she had plenty of low numbers since then. We'll see...all I know is there are no drops between the 1.25u and the f1.25u which immediately sent her into the 30s.
Another late day for me....the two nights I was up with Gracie really wore me out and with her new feeding schedule, I didn't get to bed until midnight last night. After the morning routine starting at 6:30, I went btb until almost 9. Gracie was so funny...she had breffis in bed and then curled up with me again when I went btb. Then she got up to go to the LB a little bit later and came right back. THEN a bird hit the picture windows in the den and she ran down to check that out and then I felt her hippity hop over me and curl up again.
So she must have been tired, too.  Spent the morning on the phone with DM and one of my DS. My mom is not doing well at all and I just have to figure out a time I can get tp TX for a few days to see her.
Have a wonderful day (what's left of it ;-) ).
