10/22 Willie PMPS 69, +3.5~68

Yesterday's condo

After heading up to 157 at +5 last night, I was expecting a number like this for an AMPS. We went ahead and started the new pen this morning. I am notoriously bad for leaving it out for an hour or two after his shots, and we were on day 29. It might not be wonky insulin causing the spike, but I'd like to rule it out as a cause. Breffis eaten, btb cuddles have commenced. Pet sitter is coming between 10 and noon, then I have to run DS to work (she's here so I'm not alone when pet sitter and her boyfriend arrive... with care.com, you don't get last names so you do need to be careful!). Then it is leaf blowing day. My city allows us to blow our leaves into the street during certain periods, and they come sweep them away. Will be working on that and some files from tbp with some football thrown in. DS is coming back tonight and staying through Monday night/Tuesday morning. She wants to do some shopping and laundry before I go out of town.

Keeping Lori very close to my heart this morning and lighting a candle for dear Tom, who will be heading to the bridge around 11am west coast time. Fly free, sweet Tom, and land softly. So many will be there to welcome you to the newest leg of your journey.

I hope the pet sitter meeting goes well today and have fun with your DS. At least you don't have to worry too much leaving Willie alone today.

Hi Christie, good luck with getting everything done before leaving town. Yes, you can never be too careful, so that's a very good plan to have DS there when petsitter arrives. Is care.com a petsitter site? I thought of you this morning. I'm getting mail from Groupon, very interesting. Have a nice day and looks like it will be a busy one, so hope you get some time to relax

Hopefully it was just that he needed a new pen.
Does one pen last you a whole month Christie? Obviously, it depends on how much you have to shoot and he gets a small amount.

Hi Christie & Willie,
I hope the new pen will bring Willie back to normal numbers. Good luck with the prospective pet sitter today. It's a good idea to have your DS there; always good to be cautious.
Rusty just heard (via Mannie) that Willie has invited the kitties to your place today, to play in the leaves and grill sausages. He can't wait to head out there.

Back to greens!! That didn't take long, Dubs!!

DPS was very cool and undaunted. Her practice pokes didn't go great, but she's coming early on Saturday to practice some more. Willie was incorrigible, showing off by playing with all his toys and being his usual charming self. He loved her boyfriend and was happy to get some male bonding time. I'm confident that she'll do well with him. She was shocked at how young and healthy he looked, and was totally charmed by how friendly he is.

Had to laugh... appears that Willie's fondness for leaf piles is figurative. DS took him out and dumped him in the big one, and he was NOT pleased! :lol: :lol: :lol: He spent quite a bit of time outside, though. I always love that I can tell by his smell when he's been outside.

Thelma, if you keep your pen refrigerated diligently, you can get more time out of it... I find that I can get at least a month, though if I've been bad and left it out to where it gets to room temp a few times, it won't last much beyond that 28 day mark, if at all. Lantus kept at room temp all the time will last 28 days, though... so one per month is your worst case scenario (unless you're on a high dose, in which case, the vials can be a more affordable option).

Woo hoo!!! Fall party iz almost reddy... leaf piles are in place, de grill is fired up, kitty croquet iz set up, an' de sausage place iz open! I did a double take on those numbers after all of Willie's great cycles lately so glad to hear it was just the pen and he's back down.....whew!!!

Glad it went well with DPS...I'm sure practice will make perfect just like all of us have learned to do.

Willie looked sooo cute!! Glad to see he made back to greens!! He sounds so sweet. It is so nice he was good with the pet sitter. Wish mine were friendlier with beans. When I was looking for a pet sitter, I had to introduce them from under the bed :sad: .

Iz Willie here. De bean iz tellin de LIES on poor me!! I jus din't want Auntie Amanda messin up de big leaf pile so dat it would be awesome for all my kitty frens to play in. yeah. dat is it! We iz havin sooo much fun! Eberybuddy in de neighborhood is pushin dere leaves into de street, so it is leaf piles as far as de eye can see!!! We jus haz to be careful... between de cars an' losin some of de little kitties in de BIG piles!! Eberybuddy is sinking in dem, wif our full tummies from all dem sausages!!! I tink de Polish waz mah favorite, tho de brats, beer brats wif cheez, an' de andouille waz alll sooooooo good!!
