Well, well, well....we've got a blue start. Though, truth be told, I do believe I should have my mommy card yanked. I started Champ on new insulin last night, knowing the old pen had pretty much petered out, checked him at +2, and then completely forgot about the little duders. I went to bed at about 11:30 and didn't even think about the fact I hadn't tested him at all last night until I checked him at +9.5 (when I get up and he gets a tuna or chicken snack) and saw his BG was 134!! So, the big mystery is....how low did he go? I don't think he was ever too low, though, because he usually cries like crazy for food and wakes me up. Maybe he just had a nice blue surf. Yeah, that's what he did... had a nice blue surf.
This morning's temperature was so absolutely beautiful at 70 degrees. We haven't had a cool temp like that in a loooong time. I opened up my DD's bedroom window so Champ could hop up on his windowsill and survey all the comings and goings of the neighborhood out front. He finally got to smell some smells, hear some birdies, and watch those same birdies fly around and torment him. He likes to watch the neighbors drive off to work and the little kids walk to the school bus stop. Ahhh...... it must be fall!!!
I would like to thank my wonderful friend Marje who mentioned she "rolls" Gracie's skin to inject. I had never heard of this, but after she described it, I tried it, and it's like frickin magic!!! The hair just parts and there's that purty pink skin with a neon sign saying "inject here." You can definitely tell you got the needle in this way!!
I'll definitely be around to visit condos later this morning. Right now, work is calling my name. I told it to shut up, but, just like my daughter, it just keeps nagging me!!! So off I go. I hope all of you have a really terrific start to your week!!
